Report on a Cultural Exploration at Janapadaloka
On 10th Aug 2023, students of grade 3 and 4 embarked on an enriching cultural journey to
Janapadaloka, a renowned cultural village located in Ramnagar district of Karnataka. The objective
of the trip was to experience the diversity of traditions of Karnataka, its art forms, and
lifestyles.
Janapadaloka is a unique cultural village that showcases a diverse range of folk art, crafts, music,
dance, and traditional lifestyles from various regions of Karnataka.
During our visit, we were able to witness a variety of:
Folk Dances: The students witnessed a film that showcased various folk-dance forms such as Dollu
Kunita, Lambani Nrutya, Veeragase and so forth. These performances were a vivid representation
of Karnataka's folk culture.
Art and Craft Workshops: Our group witnessed the traditional crafts like pottery making and
weaving.
Our field trip to Janapadaloka was an insightful and enjoyable experience that allowed us to
connect with Karnataka's cultural roots. It was an opportunity to appreciate the beauty of our
state's traditions and learn about the art forms that have been passed down through generations.
This trip not only enhanced our knowledge but also inspired a deeper sense of pride in our cultural
heritage. “ N a t u r e i s a t o o l t o g e t c h i l d r e n t o e x p e r i e n c e n o t j u s t t h e w i d e r w o r l d , b u t t h e m s e l v e s . ” ”
