1) What do you think is the most common type of pollution in
the world? How is it caused?

2) Watch the following video about pollution in the world.

A) Take notes of how each type of pollution is caused.

Then, discuss this question: What are in your opinion the most
effective strategies for reducing pollution on a local and global
scale?

GRAMMAR BANK: PAST SIMPLE
The past simple is used to talk about an action that started in the past
and concluded in the past, we tend to use it when we know when the
action took place, for example:
I went to Japan last year.
She had a headache yesterday.
We did our homework last night.

 1) Read the following text and identify the verbs in the past
simple.

Last year, I went to Europe for the first time, and it was amazing. One of
the best parts of my trip was visiting Paris, the City of Lights. When I got
there, I loved the beautiful buildings and busy streets.

In Paris, I saw famous places like the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame
Cathedral, and the Louvre Museum. They were all so big and old. I
walked along the Seine River and looked at the pretty bridges and cafes.

One night, I joined a tour of Montmartre. We walked on small streets and

saw paintings from local artists. It was fun and busy there.

Another day, I ate yummy pastries from a bakery and had a picnic in
Versailles Gardens. The food tasted really good, and the flowers smelled
nice.

When it was time to leave Paris, I felt sad. I had such a great time there
and made lots of memories. It was a trip I'll never forget.
 2) Identify the subject and the verb of the next sentences.

HOMEWORK
Write a text about the favourite holidays of your life. Include as
many verbs in the past simple as possible, use time references
and linking phrases (that you can find in previous classes
theory docs) . Write at least 100 words.
