The Internet and the Real World

How to play
Split the class into groups.

Each group will need:

• a voting mat (printed at A3 is preferable)
• a set of situation cards

In their groups, pupils read each situation card and discuss whether
they prefer to do the activity using the internet (online) or in real life
(in the ‘physical world’).

They place the card on the correct place on the voting mat to cast their vote.

When all groups are finished, count up the total number of cards in all the
Internet and Real World piles. Depending on the results, announce whether
pupils prefer online more than the real world for doing everyday things!

Discussion points
• What did we find out about how we use the internet?
• Do we agree that some things work better in real life?
