Leave Policy

Eligibility:

• All employees on regular rolls of the company.

Entitlement:

• All employees are entitled to 20 days annual leave per financial year.

• All employees are also entitled to 24 days’ personal time leave per financial year.

• Intervening company holidays and weekly off(s) will not be counted as leaves, provided
the employee has worked for 4 days in that week.

• Leave entitlement is as per the leave year (April – March). For new hires during the year,
the entitlement will be calculated on a pro-rata basis. Leave will be credited at the end of
every month.

Guidelines:

Leave entitlement in probation period:

• Employees can only avail their personal time leaves during the probation period.
• Employee will be entitled to earn annual leaves during probation period but cannot
avail these leaves. Annual leaves can be accumulated during probation period and can
be availed only after confirmation of the employment.

Annual Leaves:

• Leaves of more than 5 days must be planned 2 months in advance of the leave period.
• Last minute unauthorised leaves will be marked as ‘leave without pay’.
• Absence due to sickness for more than 2 days will be adjusted against leaves only on
submission of proper medical documents.
• For availing half day leave, employee needs to work:
o Minimum of 4.5 Hours in a day
o Less than 4.5 hours will be considered as a full day leave
• Employees are entitled to carry forward annual leaves, subject to a maximum
accumulation of 30 days.
Personal Time Leaves:

• Employees are entitled to avail 2 personal time leaves in a month.


• Personal time leaves can not be accumulated. Personal time leaves not taken during a
month, will lapse if not taken in the same month.
• A maximum of 2 personal time leaves can be availed in a month by an employee.

Compensatory Off:

• When a supervisor so requests an employee may be required to work on public


holidays or weekly off. In such a case the employee will be entitled to compensatory
off in lieu of working on a holiday/ weekly off.
• If an employee is working during weekly off or public holiday, he needs to work:
o Minimum of 4.5 hours for 1/2 day’s compensatory off
o Minimum of 9 hours for 1 day’s compensatory off
o Validity of a compensatory off will be 90 days after which they will expire.
• Compensatory offs will not be carried forwarded to next year.

Procedure and Responsibility:

• Employees must apply for their leaves well in advance using the leave portal.
• Employee can avail his/her leave only after he/she receives an approval from the
Head of the Department.
• In principle, leave is not allowed during the notice period.
