1. PURPOSE
This method statement details the procedures for erecting, modifying, and dismantling
scaffolding for [JAYA PHASE 2 WP-03 PT GIVAUDAN INDONESIA] located at [Outdoor Unit
And AHU UNIT]. This document aims to ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance
with relevant health and safety regulations.
2. SCOPE
The scope of work discussed in this work method is surveying, loading and unloading, and
installation of scaffloding.
• Erection of scaffolding to [specific height and configuration].
• Modifications as required during the project lifecycle.
• Dismantling and removal of scaffolding upon project completion.
3.3. SHE
3.3.1. SHE together with the engineer team will assist and ensure the work follows the rules
and regulations of occupational safety and health.
3.3.2. Provide safety induction to all workers.
3.3.3. Controlling and holding Pre-start meetings / tool-box meetings on a regular basis led
by supervisors.
3.3.4. Creating and monitoring a healthy and safe work environment.
3.3.5. Ensure all equipment is proper and safe to use.
3.3.6. Ensure all workers comply with safety requirements for work.
3.3.7. Ensure that materials are placed, used and disposed of in the right places.
3.4. Surveyors
3.4.1. Ensure work is carried out within specified limits.
3.4.2. Monitoring before and during implementation.
3.5. Supervisors
The supervisor will explain to his team the type of work and the order of work, especially
from the aspect of work safety and security. Supervisors must ensure that the installation
plan includes:
Identify the type of work to be performed.
3.5.1. Identify work-related hazards.
3.5.2. Carry out a risk assessment.
3.5.3. Identify control measures.
3.5.4. Develop methods to be used with engineers.
3.5.5. Communicating the plan to everyone involved.
3.5.6. Reviewing plans before starting implementation and informing field data or changes
that occur.
3.5.7. Directing workers to be aware of the work and risks.
3.5.8. Report any deviations and obstacles that occur in the field during implementation.
3.5.9. Provide solutions for implementing work if there are deviations and obstacles that
occur.
3.5.10. Coordination with the Superintendent for problems in the field.
3.5.11. Conduct a tool-box meeting before carrying out work.
3.5.12. Create work-related JSAs.
5. CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE
5.1 Erection of Scaffolding
1. Site Preparation:
• Assess the ground conditions.
• Clear the area of obstructions.
• Ensure a stable base for the scaffolding.
2. Erection:
• Assemble the base plates and sole boards.
• Erect standards (vertical tubes) at appropriate intervals.
• Attach ledgers (horizontal tubes) and transoms (cross tubes).
• Fix bracing to ensure stability.

8. QUALITY MANAGEMENT
8.1. Quality Assurance
Ensure that the approved Work Method is available and the work is carried out in accordance
with the work method, contract documents and vendor documents.
The work method must be known by everyone involved in the work.
Provide an Inspection Test Plan (ITP) and ensure that the internal checklist for work
preparation has been fulfilled before the work is carried out.
Identify all materials, tools, procedures, resources and management in order to achieve good
work.
8.2. Quality Control
Work permit has been approved according to method, area, material, and equipment.
Controlling ITP and ensure that it can be implemented.
Update ITP to improve the quality of work.
Prepare work-related plans, procedures, and documents.
The order of each job follows the work method including termination.
Carry out quality control of work results in accordance with ITP and ensure quality records are
kept properly.
9. SHE MANAGEMENT
An introduction to occupational safety and health must be introduced to everyone involved in
the project before construction work begins through induction.
The work sequence, the potentials that can cause work accidents, both equipment, materials
and work methods must be explained in the early stages and in the tool box meeting/pre start
meeting. This is stated in detail in the Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
Everyone involved in the work must wear personal protective equipment while in the project
area. Provision of occupational safety and health signs is always placed in appropriate
locations.
Mechanical officers together with safety must always check the equipment that is being used
and which will be used in the construction process periodically.
Special matters requiring attention:
- Material placement,
- Inspection of transportation access,
- Lifting equipment does not experience overload.
