Method Statement Support and Hanger
1. Pre-Planning
Make sure all the necessary shop drawing layouts and determine the actual position to
commence installation with the mobilisation of required work force, tools and equipment.
Determine the method and material of support to be used according to location and load of items
to be supported. Supports or hangers are allowed to be secured to roof structure trusses or purlins.
Upon delivery, person in-charge shall check for any defect of damage and according to delivery
order.
2. Constructions
2.1 Fabrication
Iiron supports and hanger rods shall be cut to required length at the ground before
being hoisted up for installation. For support mounted on truss or purlins, a flat bar with a
hanger rod welded to it shall be used to secure around the cross section of the truss or
purlins and fixed with bolt and double nut.
For installing equipment, pipe or duct we have kind of support which is used
depend on condition, material and load for detail used any area referred to approval shop
drawing.
a. Clamp Support
Clamp support shall be used where ducting is to be suspended from building steel, we
selected type on the basis to be supported like beam and purlins, this detail kind of
clamp support we used in this project

2.2 Installation
Check location and routing for obstruction by other services. Erect scaffolding,
lifter or rolling tower to required height and barricade surrounding area for safety
purposes. Safety officer shall check for proper erection of scaffolding. For support
mounted on soffit of slab, the hanger rod shall be secured to an anchor bolt fixed into a
drilled hole on the soffit. Ensure the supports and hangers are in a straight line and the
spacing in between each support is consistent and according to specification. Check that
all supports are properly secured to the soffit of slab or purlins and the angle iron supports
are secured to the base of equipment, pipe or duct.
