FEASTS: MORE
THAN JUST FOOD
Celebrations all through history have involved big meals! These aren't just fancy dinners;
they're parties to mark special moments like good harvests, weddings, and even new
babies being born.. Food and drinks are important, but that's not all! Feasts are about
getting together with loved ones and having a good time. Sharing a meal creates stronger
bonds and brings people closer.
Today, we still celebrate important events with big meals, but they can be more relaxed.
The most important part is the feeling of togetherness and happiness. Think of Eid, where
Muslims celebrate the ending of Ramadan with a big feast. Start with prayer in the
morning, then come together with family and friends to enjoy delicious food. Easter is
similar. People go to church, have a special meal with family, decorate eggs, and maybe
even give presents.
A feast with love is all about creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. It's a chance to
connect with others, say thank you, and make your relationships stronger. So next time
you eat with loved ones, make it a little extra special! and show how much you care about
each other.

CALLING
ALL SUNDRY
WOMEN!
Hello Everyone,Exciting news! We're officially launching the Sundry Women Network – a
dedicated space for women across Sundry Foods and Sundry Markets to connect,
empower, and grow. This new initiative was first announced at our International Women’s
Day event hosted in Port Harcourt on Friday 08 March 2024. It is open for all Sundry
Women, and participation is voluntary.
LeanIn.org will provide free guides and resources to help us run engaging programs, hold
employees accountable, and customize content to meet our needs. Whether you are
looking for support from women who understand what you're going through or need
help navigating the challenging work terrain, your Circle can give you the boost you need.

Why
Join?
Find your tribe: Connect with other amazing Sundry women who understand
your experiences and goals.
Level up your career: Sharpen your leadership skills, learn to combat bias, and
gain valuable insights from LeanIn.org, a leading organization for women's
empowerment.
Support & Growth: Learn new skills, build confidence, and celebrate each
other's achievements.
How it works
8–12 employees who come together around a common thread/interest (i.e., function,
location, etc.). We can start with less per circle and scale up. Circles meet once a month for
60–90 minutes, either in person or virtually—it’s up to each Circle to decide what works
best for the group. Circles typically meet for a minimum of 6-9 months and stay connected
between meetings.
Lean In provides monthly discussion topics and research backed skill-building content for
Circles. At each meeting, we’ll dive into a different topic, ranging from confidence
building, critical professional development skills to combating bias against women at
work. Lean In has teamed up with leading experts to create videos and activities that will
guide our discussions.

Together we’ll learn new leadership skills, practice strategies to navigate bias, and amplify
each other’s achievements. Every meeting close by committing to One Action—one thing
you’ll do to step outside your comfort zone or learn something new before you meet next.
Each circle will be focused on something the members are personally interested in. Similar
interests will determine assignment of circles (for example, people at similar career levels,
life stages, or who have similar hobbies/interests). Interested women are encouraged to
select to join a circle that aligns with their personal interests.
If you’re interested in joining, click here Lean In to sign up. Note that registration is open
for a limited period. For this pilot phase, membership slot will be limited to enable us to
effectively manage the circles within our network to achieve set goal. Only registered
members will be invited to join the virtual kick-off event scheduled tentatively for
Wednesday, 3rd April 2024.
We kicked off the festivities with a fun and engaging Sip & Paint
event for our amazing female staff. The atmosphere was electric
with creativity flowing as everyone enjoyed unleashing their inner
artist. It was a fantastic opportunity for team bonding and
celebrating the unique talents of our women. Here are picture
highlights for the event.
