Lucie Manette
Lucie Manette, daughter of Dr. Alexandre Mannet, was loving and beautiful women.
She was born in France but brought to England at a very young age. She is recognized
for her kindness and cares for her loved ones. She brought her father from France to
English and never stopped care for him even after marring with Charles Darney.
Charles Darnay
A French Aristocrat, who later renounced his family name of St. Evrémonde. After
renouncing his relations with his family, he moved to English where he teaches French and
marries Lucie Manette. He is also put on Trial in France during the Franch Revolution for the
crimes of family.
Sydney Carton
Sydney Carton is a Landon lawyer, and informal legal adviser to Stryver. He had a great
positional but has fallen into a life of Alcoholism and vice. He looks remarkably like Charles
Darney. His love for Lucy Mannet motivates him to sacrifice his life to save the life of her
husband.
Miss Pross
A forceful Englishwomen and maid of Lucie Mannette. She devoted her life for Lucie
and kills to the Madam Defarge.
Jerry Cruncher
Jerry is a messenger for Tellson’s Bank and Jarvis Lorry’s bodyguard. His side job is
to act as a "resurrection man," which involves digging up dead bodies and selling
their parts to scientists.
C. J. Stryver
A boorish lawyer who employs Sydney Carton. Stryver is Darnay’s defense attorney in
England and aspires briefly to marry Lucie.
John Barsad
A police spy in England who faked his own funeral. He appears later as a prison spy in
revolutionary France.
Roger Cly
A police spy in England who becomes a spy in revolutionary France. Recognized as
Miss Pross’ brother, he is forced to help Carton save Darnay
Marquis St. Evrémonde
Darnay’s uncle. An immoral, cruel man, he runs down a child with his carriage and is
later murdered by the child’s father.
