five years under the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. 📌 Free electricity to poor
households under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana was another key promise in the

manifesto 📌 The BJP also promised to ensure creating infrastructure like women’s

hostels and creches near industrial and commercial centres to promote participation of
women in the workforce. It further added that it will expand health services to ensure a
healthy life for women. These services will be focussed on preventing and reducing

cases of Anaemia, Breast Cancer, Cervical Cancer and Osteoporosis. 📌 BJP promised

includes strong economic growth, infrastructure projects, welfare handouts and
aggressive Hindu nationalism.

"At a broad level, the manifesto is more tilted towards continuity than change," Citi
said.

with in global manufacturing," the economists said. (Reporting by Ira Dugal; Editing

1. Border Infrastructure Development: By prioritizing infrastructural development along the
sensitive border areas with China, Myanmar, and Pakistan, the BJP aims to bolster
national security and connectivity in these regions. This indicates a strategic approach to
safeguarding borders while also potentially facilitating economic development in border
areas.
2. Economic Growth Ambition: The BJP's commitment to elevating India to the position of
the third-largest economic power globally within a decade reflects their confidence in
their economic policies and governance. Achieving this ambitious goal would require
sustained growth, investment, and structural reforms across sectors.
3. Implementation of CAA and Uniform Civil Code: These promises align with the BJP's
ideological stance on issues of citizenship and personal laws. However, these initiatives
have been contentious, sparking debates around inclusivity, minority rights, and
secularism. Implementing these measures would likely face challenges and opposition,
necessitating careful navigation.
4. One Nation, One Election: The BJP's push for simultaneous elections aims to streamline
the electoral process and reduce administrative burdens. However, achieving consensus
among diverse political parties and addressing constitutional and logistical challenges
would be crucial for its successful implementation.
5. Strengthening Educational and Healthcare Institutions: Prioritizing funding and capacity-
building in premier institutions underscores the BJP's focus on human capital
development and healthcare infrastructure. This aligns with the goal of enhancing India's
competitiveness and ensuring quality healthcare for its citizens.
6. Social Welfare Initiatives: The BJP's welfare schemes targeting food security and
electricity access for vulnerable populations reflect its commitment to poverty alleviation
and inclusive growth. These initiatives aim to address basic needs and improve living
standards, especially for marginalized communities.
7. Women Empowerment and Healthcare: The focus on women's workforce participation,
healthcare access, and political representation highlights the BJP's recognition of gender
disparities and health challenges faced by women. These initiatives aim to promote
gender equality, enhance women's health outcomes, and empower them socio-
economically.
8. Support for Farmers: The BJP's promises to increase MSP on crops and provide
financial assistance to farmers demonstrate its commitment to agricultural development
and farmer welfare. However, addressing agrarian distress, ensuring fair pricing, and
sustainable farming practices remain key challenges.
9. Social Security for Drivers: Recognizing the importance of informal sectors such as
transportation, the BJP's pledge to include drivers in social security schemes aims to
provide financial stability and social protection to vulnerable workers. This reflects efforts
to address informal sector vulnerabilities and promote social inclusion.
Overall, the BJP's manifesto reflects a comprehensive vision encompassing economic growth,
national security, social welfare, and governance reforms. However, the successful
implementation of these promises would depend on effective policy execution, stakeholder
engagement, and addressing challenges and opposition along the way.
