SEMI DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN DT 311 CONSTRUCTION

ESTIMATE AND SCALE MODELING

Subject: DT 311 CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATE AND SCALE MODELING Grade & Section: III-B3
Date: April 16, 2024 Time: 8:00 – 11:00

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

 Identify the scale model estimation of materials

 Reflect on the importance of estimating materials of the scale model
 Apply the formula in estimating different materials in scale model.

B. RECALL
(review of the past lesson)

C. MOTIVATION

This activity is entitled, “In between”.

Kindly read the mechanics everyone.
 The teacher will give two different numbers.
 The teacher will prepare a number between the two
numbers he gives,
 The student will avoid to guess the right number
between the two numbers.
 The teacher will shrink the gap every guess.
 The one that will guess the number will a fun
consequence.
Let’s begin!

D. PRESENTATION OF THE LESSON

(the teacher will post the title of the topic)

But before we proceed to our lesson let me present the

learning objectives.

(Presentation of the objectives)

At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

 Identify the scale model estimation of materials
 Reflect on the importance of estimating materials of
the scale model
 Apply the formula in estimating different materials in
scale model.

E. DISCUSSION

For your laboratory you will estimate the following

calculation for your scale model

HOW TO ESTIMATE THE QUANTITY OF CEMENT AND

SAND FOR YOUR PLASTER MIX:

Determine how thick your plaster plaster will be:

Plaster can be applied in varying thicknesses with the
suggested thinnest thickness at 8mm and the thickest at
25mm.

Determine your plaster mixture:

Same with concrete, plaster’s compressive strength
depends on your material’s mixture and proportions. You
should select your plaster mix class according to your
desired mix strength.

Class A = For exterior projects.

Class B = For ceiling and exterior projects.
Class C = For brickwork mortar and interior walls.
Class D = For interior projects.

Determine your wall's area:

Determine the area of your wall. The formula for a square
wall is Length * Height.

Square Wall Area = Length * Height

Make sure to take into consideration the often-

overlooked information that will affect the area of your wall
– for example, the depth of your beam or the underground
foundation CHB.
Determine the number of faces to be plastered:

Make sure to take into consideration how many wall

faces are to be plastered.

F. APPLICATION

With that, we will have our laboratory activity.

For your Sheet No.4, you will solve for the Estimating
Cement Mortar for Filling CHB of your scale model masters
bedroom. Be guided by the formula given. Put your
computations in a long bond paper.

Duration:
(5 hours)

 Sheet 4. Estimating Cement Mortar for Filling

CHB

G. GENERALIZATION

H. EVALUATION

I. ASSIGNMENT

Continue doing your computation for the Estimating

Steel Reinforcement.

That’s all for today

Let’s pray

Praise be Jesus Christ.

Goodbye, class!
