Sciuromorpha ( 'squirrel-like ' ) is a rodent clade that includes several different rodent
household .It includes all members of the Sciuridae ( the squirrel family ) as well as the
mountain beaver species .Traditionally , the terminal figure has been defined on the
foundation of the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe of the infraorbital epithelial
duct .A sciuromorphous zygomasseteric system of rules is characterized by attachment of
the lateral masseter muscularity along the side of the soapbox .Unlike hystricomorphous
and myomorphous rodents , the medial masseter muscularity does not lead through the
infraorbital duct .Among extant gnawer , only the family Sciuridae , Castoridae ,
Heteromyidae , and Geomyidae are truly sciuromorphous .Some authorities would exclude
the Geomyidae and Heteromyidae from that inclination due to the attachment of the medial
masseter directly behind the zygomatic archway .Carleton and Musser ( 2005 ) redefined
the rodent suborders on morphological and molecular dry land .They defined the suborder
Sciuromorpha as including three families , family Sciuridae , family Aplodontiidae , and
Gliridae .Of these , only the family Sciuridae are truly sciuromorphous .The Aplodontiidae
are protrogomorphous and the family Gliridae are myomorphous .The connexion between
family Aplodontiidae and Sciuridae has been proposed numerous times in the past
times .The two home have been united into a common infraorder ( Sciurida ) or superfamily
( Sciuroidea ) .It has long been suggested that dormice ( Gliridae ) are not particularly
related to the Myomorpha , and their zygomasseteric social structure has been termed ``
pseudomyomorphy '' .The connection between squirrels and dormice has been almost
exclusively suggested through transmitted studies , and to a less level via the fossil rodent
Reithroparamys .== Current families == The suborder Sciuromorpha contains 307 keep
species in 61 genera and three family line .At least three extinct families are also
