一、Overview

二、Safety and precautions
Before using the equipment, it is recommended that you read this

chapter carefully and strictly abide by the following precautions to avoid
possible dangers and disasters.
 This equipment should be placed in a clean and dry place, kept tidy
and protected from moisture. The operating environment temperature
generally does not exceed 40°C. Strictly prevent all kinds of foreign
matter from splashing into the motor.
 When this equipment is used in an area prone to moisture, please equip
it with a leakage protection device to ensure the operator's personal
safety. This equipment is used in a highly corrosive environment. To
prevent mechanical and electrical performance damage, please take
necessary protective measures.
 This equipment is prohibited from being used in environments
containing flammable and explosive gases in the air (except
explosion-proof).
 This equipment is used in a power grid with severe voltage fluctuations,
which may cause the speed to be out of control. Please use a voltage
stabilizing device.
 If any abnormal noise is found when the equipment is working, it should
be stopped immediately for inspection and the fault can be eliminated
before it can be turned on again.
 If the fault cannot be cleared, please ask a professional to repair
it or contact our after-sales service department. Do not ask people
who are not familiar with the performance of this machine to
disassemble or assemble it to avoid accidents.
 If the motor used is a three-phase system, the ground wire must be

well grounded (it is strictly prohibited to lead the ground wire to

telephone lines, water pipes, gas pipes and lightning rods).
 After production, the mixing kettle, mixing blades, three-legged
bottom bearings, etc. must be carefully cleaned to prevent the drying
of the materials from affecting the operating performance.
 This equipment will be out of service for a long time. Maintenance
and inspection must be carried out before it is used again. Especially
in terms of electrical safety performance, a megohmmeter can be used
to detect the insulation resistance.
 In addition, you must carefully read the "Electrical Schematic
Diagram" and "Electrical Operating Instructions" that come with this
machine before using it.

In addition, the purchased fuselage comes with a warning nameplate, please

operate it accurately according to the reminder .
Note: The above precautions are not limited to the operation of existing
equipment, but apply to all equipment produced by Fivele.
The following aspects should also be done:
1. When performing maintenance, observation, and inspection, turn off the
main switch and hang a sign with a warning sign.
2. When opening the equipment for maintenance work, make sure that the
motor cannot start if any button on the button box is pressed by mistake.
3. Do not replace or modify the wiring in the control cabinet and button
box.
4. Do not touch the moving parts during operation.
5. Keep the belt tight enough. Belts that are too loose will cause
overheating and possible explosion.
6. Maintain appropriate mechanical seal cooling liquid level. Mechanical
seal without cooling will cause overheating and may cause explosion.
7. Do not start the grinder without cooling water. Do not start the main
motor when there is no material in the grinding cylinder. Idling or gas
in the grinding cylinder may cause an explosion hazard.
8. Keep the equipment clean and regularly clean the dust accumulated on
the surface of the equipment, motors, and electrical components to
eliminate the risk of dust explosions.
9. The grounding device should be checked and tested regularly. Good
grounding can ensure that no leakage and static electricity occur to
prevent accidents.
10. Strict attention should be paid to fire during the use and maintenance
of the equipment.
11. Lubricants containing lead substances are not allowed to be used in
the food processing industry. Only lubricants that meet food hygiene

standards are allowed to be used.

3. Product introduction
Sand mill is a wet grinding machine used to grind and disperse

solid-liquid materials. It is widely used in industrial sectors such as
coatings, inks, magnetic recording materials, medicine, non-metallic
minerals, etc., together with ball mills and three-roller grinders.
Compared with machines and colloid mills, sand mills have many advantages
such as high productivity, strong process continuity, and low cost.
The discharging device of this series of sand mills adopts the
discharging structure of axial dynamic screen slots, which reliably
prevents the grinding media from escaping from the screen slots. The
pressure and temperature are measured by the electric contact pressure
gauge (feed end) and the temperature gauge (output end) respectively.

Working principle: The main motor drives the main shaft to rotate at high

crushed and dispersed.

The machine adopts a precise and reliable mechanical seal, which is

highly reliable and durable. The grinding cylinder is completely sealed
to avoid the mixing of air, the generation of bubbles and the
volatilization of solvent, which greatly reduces environmental
pollution.
This machine uses a dynamic separator to separate the grinding media
and the materials to be ground, so it is especially suitable for continuous
production of products. Due to the self-cleaning function of the device,
the grinding media will not be blocked in the gaps, so it has a long service
life.

六、Installation operation
1. Machine dimensions
2. Displacement
Use 4 lifting rings as displacement support points for work.
3. Get in position
Electrical control cabinets must be installed outside the risk of fire
and explosion.
This machine does not need to lay a special foundation. You only need
to place the machine in place on a solid ground. There are adjustable feet
at the bottom of the machine. When placing it, you need to use a level
to level the machine to ensure that the machine is installed horizontally.
4.Pipeline links
The inlet and outlet pipes for the cooling water of the sand mill (next
to the motor door of the fuselage, the one at the high position is the
outlet, and the one at the low position is the inlet)
(2) Connect the feed pipe of the sand mill to the solvent or clean
water, and connect the discharge pipe of the sand mill to the empty barrel
( the discharge pipe of the sand mill should be lower than the discharge
port of the sand mill , a distance No more than two meters. If it is too
long or too high, it will generate high pressure inside the cylinder,
damage the seal and cause leakage). The location of the material inlet
and outlet of the sand mill is determined according to the purchased model.

for information.
5. Consider the following when positioning equipment:
①There is enough operating space. ②The distance between the sand mill
and walls and other obstacles should be convenient for operation and
maintenance. ③Easy to install and connect the feed pipe, cooling water

pipe, and compressed air pipe. ④Easy to install and connect power and
control wires. ⑤ Facilitates the operation of material barrels and
turnover barrels. ⑥ When laying cables, the cross-sectional area should
comply with safety regulations, and the main motor of the equipment should
be an explosion-proof motor.
6. Auxiliary system
(1) Cooling water system
This machine adopts a jacket cooling design outside the grinding
cylinder, so that the heat generated during work can be quickly discharged.
Water consumption increases or decreases with water temperature, product
fineness requirements, material viscosity, pigment hardness, and
grinding media filling amount. This machine is equipped with two water
outlet pipes connected to the open drainage channel for visual inspection
of the cooling water flow. The minimum diameter of the drainage pipe is

1.5 inches, and the cooling water pressure is not less than 2kg/cm . If
the material to be ground is particularly sensitive to temperature, a
refrigeration device should be installed.
(2) Compressed air
This machine uses compressed air to increase the back pressure of the
mechanical seal to enhance its reliability and the operation of the
diaphragm pump. Just connect the air pipe with an outer diameter of 8mm
to the air inlet joint of the pressure regulating valve inside the machine.
A control valve should be added to the air intake pipe.
(3) Electrical system
The user needs to install the main power supply line to the local
control cabinet and the power line from the local control cabinet to the
main motor. The cross-sectional area of these wires should comply with
relevant regulations. The control cabinet and button box wiring are
assembled by the manufacturer.

七、Operation
1. Start preparation:
①Open the cooling water
② Turn the spindle by hand and it should rotate easily and without any
abnormality.
③Connect the material receiving pipe.
2. Power on:
① Turn on the power switch, press the start button to start the pump,
adjust the pump speed to 400-1000 rpm, wait until the slurry enters the
sanding barrel, then turn off the pump, and then press the host start
button to start the host to start the pump. Adjust the speed to 150-250
rpm.
② Get the empirical fineness of the slurry and adjust the pump speed
according to the fineness.
③ Pay attention to the slurry temperature gauge at all times. The slurry
temperature should generally not exceed 60 degrees Celsius.
④ Pay attention to the operation of the machine at all times. If there
is any abnormality, shut down the machine immediately and find maintenance
personnel for repair.
3. Downtime:
①After the slurry flows out, add a small amount of solvent from the feed
pipe, and clean the sanding barrel to prevent clogging of the feed pipe.
②Press the stop button to stop the host from rotating.
③Clean the filter cover with a small amount of solvent.
④Turn off the cooling water.

⑤Clean the slurry cylinder.

⑥ If the machine is shut down for a long time, the lubricating part of
the machine should be filled with grease and the machine should be wiped
clean.
二．Precautions
1. Frequently check the wear of the zirconium beads in the sanding barrel.
If the wear is serious, you need to replace the zirconium beads that meet
the specifications.
2. It is strictly forbidden to start the machine without turning on the
cooling water.
3. There is no slurry in the sanding barrel and it is strictly prohibited
to start the machine.
4. It is strictly prohibited to turn on the main unit first and then the
pump.
5. It is strictly forbidden for foreign objects (metal objects) to enter
the sand mill to avoid damaging the machine.
八、maintain
1. To prevent the belt from slipping and causing friction and heating,
perform regular inspections at least once a week.
2. The grease in the bearing seat should be replaced once a year since
the beginning of use.
3. The mechanical seal used in this machine has high precision and
durability, and its leakage is very small. The coolant consumption
can be calculated cumulatively from the decrease of the coolant level
scale. Anything within 1-2 ml per hour should be within the normal
range.
4. Electrical devices and instruments must be inspected and adjusted

regularly. Unqualified ones must be repaired and replaced in time.

5. The use of open flames and welding operations must be strictly
prohibited during maintenance work. When it is unavoidable to weld
or use open flames in production or storage areas, written approval
must be obtained from the person responsible for fire prevention and
special safety measures must be taken before implementation.
6. This machine should be thoroughly cleaned and inspected once after
it has been in operation for about a year, and the wear and tear of
wearing parts should be checked. If scaling is severe, descaling agent
should be used to clean and remove scale. Replace all grease.
Completely check whether the electrical system is safe. Check whether
the adjustment instrument is reliable and sensitive. Check whether
the grounding device is reliable.

九、Precautions
The feed pump does not operate or does not discharge material after
operation: the materials are unevenly mixed, and the local viscosity is
too high due to pigment precipitation to block the feed pipes and valves.
Or the diaphragm pump guide rod is stuck due to poor lubrication.
The main motor does not move: whether there is power or not, and whether
the control circuit is connected. Whether the safety protection
instrument operates. Whether the thermal relay operates.
The rotor does not rotate (the main motor is running): The V-belt is too
loose and slipping. The rotor is stuck with grinding media or material.
Note: For materials with a low freezing point, the water inlet valve must
be closed in time to prevent the temperature of the grinding cylinder from
lowering, causing the material in the grinding cylinder to harden and jam
the rotor. When processing such materials, the water inlet valve does not
need to be opened in advance. Open it immediately after starting the
machine, and try not to stop it halfway. If it must be stopped, the water
inlet valve should be closed in time, and the machine should be washed
with solvent immediately after the work is completed.
Mechanical vibration: Uneven feed speed. There is too little grinding
media and the specific gravity is too small. Is the V-belt tight enough?
The viscosity of the material varies from time to time.
Material leakage at the bottom of the bearing seat: The end face of the
mechanical seal is worn and needs to be replaced and repaired.
Abnormal noise from the bearing seat: Check whether the bearing clearance
is appropriate and whether the bearing temperature is normal to determine
whether the bearing needs to be replaced.
The coolant of the mechanical seal decreases too quickly or becomes turbid
or has an abnormal color: stop the machine and clean it, then check the

mechanical seal to see if the end face of the mechanical seal is worn.
The main motor load is too large: the material viscosity is too high,
the grinding media is too much, and the electrical circuit is abnormal.
The pressure is too high: the viscosity of the material is too high, the
feed pump rotates too fast, whether the inlet and outlet pipelines are
smooth, and whether the discharge screen ring is blocked
The feed pump cannot feed material: there is air leakage in the pipeline,
whether the feed pipe is blocked, the feed pump is reversed, the feed pipe
is seriously worn, the feed pipe is too long or the curvature is too small,
the material viscosity is too high
Decreased production capacity: excessive wear of the dispersing disc,
inappropriate size of grinding media or a large amount of grinding. The
circulating pump cannot absorb oil: when the sand mill is first started,
the circulating pump (micro hydraulic pump) is filled with oil due to the
oil pipe system. The air may not be able to absorb the oil. In this case,
just pull out the oil inlet pipe, raise the pipe mouth upward, and use
an oil gun to inject lubricant into the oil pipe. After filling, quickly
insert the oil pipe into the oil tank and start the engine at the same
time. The oil can be smoothly sucked into the main engine. When the main
engine is stopped and then started again, since the oil pipeline system
is filled with oil, it can self-prime quickly every time it is started.

10. Maintenance terms
1. This product will be repaired according to the terms in the order

contract.
2. Rotating parts are generally inspected every six months or so to check
whether the bearings are loose. If there is any wear and tear, please
contact the technical personnel of our after-sales service department in
time.
3. This product is subject to lifetime maintenance. If the warranty period
exceeds the contract commitment, maintenance fees and accessories fees
will be charged as appropriate.
4. During the warranty period, free repair will not be provided if the
following conditions occur:
 Unable to produce proof of purchase
 Damage caused by disassembly or modification
 Failure or damage caused by use under unusual conditions (such as
long-term use in harsh places)
If the above maintenance clauses are inconsistent with the contract, the
contract shall prevail.
