tooth, which weakens the entire
alveolus and brings the tooth apices
into a closerrelationship with the sinus
cavity. In order to avoid OAC,
preoperative radiograph is needed.
When perforation, ifsinus opening is
small and disease free, effort should be
made to establish blood clot in the
extraction site andpreserve it in place.
Soft tissue Uap elevation is not
required. Sutures are placed to
reposition the soft tissue, and agauze
pack is placed over the surgical site for
1-2 hours. Majority of patients treated
in this manner showeduneventful
healing when no evidence of
preexisting sinus disease.

Prognostic Factors Relating to the Outcome of Endodontic Microsurgery

August 2014 · Journal of Endodontics
Jeen-Nee Lui · Ma-Ma Khin · Gita Krishnaswamy · Nah-Nah Chen

Introduction The aim of this retrospective study was to evaluate the outcome of endodontic microsurgery and to examine prognostic
factors related to healing. Methods The clinical records of all patients who had undergone endodontic microsurgery from 1997–2003
at the National Dental Centre of Singapore were examined. Teeth with a recall period of 1–2 years were selected. All surgical
procedures, ... [Show full abstract]

Nonsurgical endodontic retreatment of a mandibular frst molar with middle mesial canal: A case repo...

January 2014
Ricardo Machado · Emmanuel João Nogueira Leal Silva · Dinesh Rokaya · Luiz Pascoal Vansan

The clinician’s dijculty in performing the correct diagnosis for some endodontic situations sometimes leads to a compromised
treatment of some teeth. Considering this, a consistent knowledge of the root canal morphology and its variations is very important to
the success of root canal treatment. This case report presents the retreatment of a mandibular frst molar with four root canals, of ...

Gingival recession is a condition defned as the apical positioning of the gingival margin in relation to the cemento-enamel junction,
resulting in root exposure in the oral environment. Although gingival recession may affect many groups of teeth, there are few studies
that attempt to clarify which is the best treatment protocol for gingival recessions localized in molars. In order to evaluate a ... [Show

Extra Roots and Root Canals in Premolar and Molar Teeth: Review of an Endodontic Challenge

September 2013 · The Journal of Contemporary Dental Practice

Zahed Mohammadi · Sousan Shalavi · Hamid Jafarzadeh

The main goal of endodontic treatment is healing of the periapical tissues which are gained by elimination of bacteria and their
byproducts from the canal and prevention from reinfection. Understanding of root canal anatomy is an essential part in endodontic
treatment. Anatomic forms and variations in special teeth should be well known, one of them is extra roots/ canals. Although possible

Coronectomy in Third Mandibular Molars as an Alternative Treatment to Prevent Damage to the Inferior...
October 2018 · International Journal of Medical and Surgical Sciences

The inferior alveolar nerve (IAN) injury to remove the third molars is often caused by the intimate relationship between the nerve and
the roots of the teeth. Coronectomy technique or intentional root retention, may minimize this problem. Thirty patients underwent
coronectomy in 30 third molars with follow up of at least 6 months. Coronectomy technique deliberately protected the lingual nerve as
