Food Safety

children to be around.

can see them.
● Have a first aid just in case for any injuries.
Preventing Illness

● In a childcare center, children are going to spend time playing

together and playing with toys, but teachers need to use simple
precautions.
● For example, make sure to keep toys and surfaces clean in your
classrooms.
● Following the Health and Safety guidelines will help prevent the
spread of illness.
Prevent Illness

● Make sure to have children’s immunization records.

● Teach Health and safety procedures to children.
● Make sure if your children are sick, have them stay home to get better to
prevent the spread of illness.
● Continue to have children wash their hands, stay healthy, and safe.
Preventing Injuries

● To prevent injuries, do a safety check in your classroom every morning

before children arrive to make sure your classroom safe and secure.
● Make sure playground surfaces are safe for the children to play on.
● Keep your watch on the children at all times.
● In the playground area, make sure all gates are locked and children are
kept inside the play area safe.
● Teachers must use safety devices like walkie talkies to communicate
with other staff for emergencies and when around the children.
Create a Safe, Caring, and Learning Environment for
all children
Keep Children Under Supervision
● Protect the children under your supervision
● Having group activities together helps having access with the children,
● Position children at different play areas, so that teachers can keep track on
the children.
● Count on how many children you have in your classroom, so that way you’ll
know how many children you have, for safety.
● Engage and redirect. Teachers must offer support and encourage children to
solve problems.
● When you engage and redirect you’re meeting each child’s individual needs
and development.
