I. Title of Activity:

“Inclusive Horizons: Fostering Unity and Navigating Social Interaction through


Social Literacy “

II. Rationale:

The students from the Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Social Studies 3-1 will
conduct a seminar entitled: “Inclusive Horizons: Fostering Unity and Navigating Social Interaction
through Social Literacy “at Bohol Island State University – Main Campus on December 13, 2023 at
9:30 A.M to 12: 00 A.M in the afternoon. The main aim of a social literacy seminar is to enhance
participants’ understanding of social issues, cultural diversity, and interpersonal skills. It seeks to
promote awareness, empathy, and effective communication, fostering a socially responsible and
inclusive mindset. The goal is to equip individuals with the knowledge and abilities to navigate
diverse social contexts, contribute positively to their communities, and engage in constructive
dialogue on various societal topics.

III. Objectives:

This activity aims to:

1. Increase awareness about social issues and their impact on individuals and
communities.
2. Foster critical thinking skills to analyze and evaluate information related to social
issues.
3. Promote active participation and engagement in community initiatives to address
social concerns.
4. Cultivate cultural competence to navigate and appreciate diverse cultural
backgrounds.

V. Methodology / Process:

 Pre-planning of the activity and brainstorming of ideas.


 Collaborating and meeting with the school principal and Brgy. Captain
 Crafting of the activity design as attached, and the program flow.
 Have the activity design signed by the classroom Mayor, Nicole Kate Ortiz, Social Studies
Instructor, Ms. Rose Anne Palma, CTE Dean, Dr. Girlie L. Valeroso, SAS Director, Engr.
Marc Joseph I. Batoy, and Services, and Campus Director Proceso M. Castil

The program will be conducted at Bohol Island State University Main


Campus – Engineering Building Room 402. This will be facilitated by the 3 rd Year
Students of BSEd Social Studies of Bohol Island State University Main Campus, with
selected participants
