Clinical Presentation Abhijeet reported a 6-month history of persistent sadness, lack of interest in activities, fatigue, and difficulty concentrating. He also experienced insomnia and weight loss. Diagnostic Evaluation Mental Status Examination: Depressed mood, anhedonia, low energy. PHQ-9 Score: 18 (Moderately severe depression) Laboratory Tests: Thyroid function tests normal. Imaging Studies: None performed. Diagnosis DSM-5 Criteria for Major Depressive Disorder: John met criteria with symptoms persisting for more than 2 weeks, including depressed mood, anhedonia, and other associated symptoms.
