REAPER
A substantial loss of paddy crops in Sri Lanka, is caused due to the delay in harvesting. This
delay could be chiefly attributed to the shortage of labour during peak harvesting seasons.
Labour as a factor of production, even in cases where it is available, proves to be extremely
costly.
In view of the above problem, the need arose for a machine to be developed. The Research
and Development Division of Jinasena Ltd. in collaboration with the Farm Mechanization
Research Centre developed the 1.2 m Paddy Reaper and eventually manufactured and
introduced it to the local farmers as a solution to their difficulty. Since many farmers
already own two-wheel tractors, the Reaper attachment will make their Power Tiller more
versatile. A self propelled Reaper was developed. Its light weight makes it highly
maneuverable.
This machine can be used to harvest in muddy fields when fitted with broad tires.

COPRA CUP EDGE TRIMMER / SHAVER
This machine is designed to trim / shave the edge of the edible grade copra cup which has a
rough surface. Coir dust and other foreign materials are adhere to this rough surface
causing distractive appearance. By trimming this edge, the Copra cups become more

MAIZE THRESHER
Threshing is an important aspect of the post-harvest

process particularly in the wet weather conditions. The
traditional method of threshing is not economical due to
the shortage of labour and the high cost of labour.
The Research & Development Division of Jinasena Ltd has

developed the Maize Thresher as a solution to the above
problems.
Two models of Maize Threshers are available, namely

MTH1-T and MTH1-20. The MTH1-T model can be
operated with a two wheel tractor and the MTH1-20 is
coupled to a Robin EY 20 petrol / Kerosene Engine.
The removal of scale leaves of the cobs prior to threshing

is not necessary and the seeds damage is negligible.

STRAW/FODDER GRASS CUTTER
The Agrimec Straw Cutter designed and developed for cutting straw which prevents
entanglement of straw with the ploughing tools and releases fertilizer to the earth, by
decomposing into compost in a relatively short time.
It can also be used to cut harvest fodder grass and similar material into small pieces of
20-30mm in length for livestock feeding. It will improve the palatability, digestibility and
prevents wastage due to trampling.

COCONUT FIBER EXTRACTOR
The fiber and coir dust can be extracted from the dried coconut husks without soaking
the husk for a prolong time. The mattress quality fiber can be used for various industries
and the coir dust for agricultural purposes. The coir dust extracted from the machine is
relatively rich in potassium since no soaking is done prior to processing. Additional
advantages of dry processing are water-ways and ground water not getting polluted and
no obnoxious gases are evolved and mosquito breading is not encouraged.

WATER PURIFIERS
Pure water, constantly accessible, presents a challenge in just about every country in the
world. In fact, the World Health Organization rates water with more than 0.3 ppm in iron
content as contaminated. Jinasena markets Water Purifiers that use a technologically

tagged 4 Micron Quartz filter media that removes excess iron, manganese, sulphur and
other harmful organic matter and thus prevents not only staining of clothes and home
appliances but eliminates the risk of health hazards.
Another purifier uses the ION exchange principle water softener that counters the
dangers such as skin allergies, loss of hair or its luster and damage to clothes and
appliances. The third model is one which is equipped with a Static Activated Carbon Filter
and supplies germ-free drinking water at the rate of 80 liters per hour. These Water
Purifiers are sturdily built and the rugged PVC body assures long and corrosion-free life –
apart from the 2-year warranties. These hi-tech water purifiers are supplemented by
Jinasena’s expert water-testing service.

NEHA MIRACLE IRON REMOVER AND WATER PURIFIER
Very often suspended and dissolved iron in raw water causes the water to have a yellow
tint, excessive quantities of which are harmful to the human body. Other organic matter
such as Manganese, Sulphur and suspended dust may also be present in raw water. To
remove all these harmful chemicals, we are pleased to introduce the NEHA iron remover
and water purifier. This new filter using 4 micron Quartz as a filter media and does not
require a cartridge or expensive replacement. A regular back washing is all that is
required to clean the filter.
Raw water with an iron content as high as 20ppm is brought down to a safe limit of less
than 0.3ppm by this unit.

NEHA NOVA WATER SOFTENER
Hard water is water which contains a high percentage of Magnesium and calcium which
causes skin allergy, hair loss, lack of luster in hair, damages to clothes, forms scales in
appliances and can easily be recognized, since soap does not lather in hard water. The
NEHA NOVA will protect you from the harmful effects of Magnesium and Calcium
hardness by softening the water using the ION exchange principle. It does not require a
power source or any cartridge or filter replacement. All it requires is a periodic
regeneration of the media using a domestic salt solution.
Merely running water through the NEHA NOVA removes all traces of Calcium, and
Magnesium hardness. However, the raw water should have a minimum of 0.3ppm Iron
for the filter to work effectively. Effective removal of total hardness to the safe limit of
200ppm is possible with this softener.
 The rugged PVC body gives long life and is corrosion free.

NEHA MINI RO WATER PURIFIYING UNIT
The advanced Reverse Osmosis water purification system purifies tap water into clean and purified
water, which is almost like mineral water.
The Reverse Osmosis process uses a semi-permeable TFC membrane to remove and reject up to 90-
95% of impurities and contaminants from water. Contaminants such as iron, copper, lead, nitrate,
magnesium, sodium, bacteria and viruses can be eliminated using only water pressure.
