consolidating data in Open office Calc

OBJECT: Consider the following Sales table of an Automobile showroom for consolidating
data. Total car sales for the First quarter of 2022 and 2023 are given for your reference.

What is Consolidating Data:- Consolidating data means combining data from multiple
tables or multiple sheets in a workbook. In consolidating data inbuilt functions are used
example: Sum, Count, Average, Max, Min and Product.

Procedure to do Consolidation in Calc

The sales data for the first quarter of 2022,2023 years has to store in separate sheets with the
names 2022,2023.
To sum up the data of both the worksheets, consolidate them using the following steps:
1. Open a workbook in excel and enter the data of the first quarter sales of the year 2022
in Sheet1 and rename the sheet to 2022.

2. Enter the data of 1st Quarter of 2023 in sheet2 and rename the sheet to 2023.

3. Open Data -> Consolidate option


4. Select data source range as $'2022'.$A$1:$D$10 and press Add,
5. Again select data source range of 2nd sheet as $'2023'.$A$1:$D$10 and press Add.
6. Select the option copy results to $'Consolidated 22,23'.$A$1
7. Select Sum Function from the given drop down menu Function.
8. Select Options row and Column labels to add labels and if we want to link with the
source data use option “link to source data”.
9. Click on Ok to do Consolidation.

10. We got the consolidated data of the 2022 and 2023 quarters
