1.0 SCOPE
The objective of this method statement is to replace condensate leak line @ Incinerator 2 by
with new piping for Shell Chemicals Seraya Pte Ltd, Jurong Island, Singapore.
2.0 PURPOSE
2.1 The purpose of this method statement is to provide the fabrication/replacement for
Condensate leak line @ Incinerator 2.
2.2 Ensure to measure the dimensions before and after fit up & welding, work sequence and
WPS, WQT to ensure that quality works are provided.

WORK SCOPE: Replace condensate leak line at Incinerator 2.
5. RESPONSIBILITY
It is the overall responsibility of the personnel in the site who are directly or indirectly
involved for establishment, successful implementation maintenance of this procedure.
5.1 Superintendent (UTOC)
To carry out required planning involving manpower.

5.2 Piping supervisor

Overall lead during the execution on site, he has to be clear on the job scope and ensure
that the work execution is carried out according to the method statement. He is responsible
for the safety of the workers carrying out the work under his instruction. He has to brief the
workers involved of the scope.
5.3 Fitters/Gen fitter/Welder
When carrying out of the hot work. Work directly under site supervisor instructions. To be
aware of the job scope and hazards involved and make sure use proper PPE.
5.4 Safety Supervisor
To carry out safety audits during work execution and to help maintain a safe working
environment. Also ensure that all regulations are adhered to.
5.5 QC inspector
To ensure the quality of work by following Work Procedure & Control following the WPS &
PQR welding parameters, NDT Requirement. In addition to provide welding consumable
control & handling before welding commences at work shop. Ensure all hold point/witness to
be perform by relevant party.
5.6 Inspection Engineer (SCSL)
To assure the quality of work by following work procedure & method statement.
6. WORKING PROCEDURE & QC INSPECTION
a) IFC/Scope Mark-Up Drawing
SJI/SCSL execution engineer shall need to provide job scope, inspection mark-up drawing &
IFC Drawing to contractor.
UTOC to be prepared Hand sketch drawing and to be get endorsed from SCSL execution
engineer approved.
b) Material inspection
Incoming /Receiving material inspection & MIR to be done.
c) Welding (Documentation)
Approved WPS/PQR should be reviewed by SCSL Inspector before start fabrication &
Welders Performance Qualification certificate (UTOC) should be reviewed before start
welding work.
ITP & work procedure Reviewed by SCSL Execution engineer & inspection engineer.

d) To replace condensate leak line at Incinerator 2 (SHOP).

➢ Materials to be provided by SCSL execution engineer.
➢ As per approved WPS/PQR Filler material to be used ER 70S-6 & ER 309L used.
➢ Procced to welding as per approved WPS/PQR and UTOC approved Welder.
➢ After completion of 1st pass/root pass VT to be done by UTOC QC Inspector.
➢ After completion of welding VT to be done by UTOC CWI QC Inspector.
➢ NDE (PT) to be perform as per ITP mentioned NDT %. (By SETSCO).
➢ Spool will be released for painting (TSA Coating).
e) To replace condensate leak line at Incinerator 2 (FIELD).
➢ Preparation of Bevel on tie in joints.
➢ Inspect for any abnormalities on the existing pipe after cutting and inform shell
execution engineer/Inspector for further modification.
➢ Bevel PT to be performed to check for any surface defects.
➢ As per approved WPS/PQR Filler material to be used ER 70S-6.
➢ Procced to welding as per approved WPS/PQR and UTOC approved Welder.
➢ After completion of 1st pass/root pass VT to be done by UTOC QC Inspector.
➢ NDE (PT) to be perform as per ITP mentioned NDT %. (By SETSCO).
➢ De-spading to be done and perform TFA.
➢ TSA coating will be done for field joints.
