Outcomes skills among young individuals through entrepreneurship,
offering a comprehensive set of interventions aimed at fostering
the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises
(MSMEs). Relatively, the YEP focal persons will be trained to

6. Background/Description The Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP), launched in 2019,
was a collaborative effort spearheaded by the Department of
Trade and Industry (DTI) with support from the US Agency for
International Development (USAID) - Education Development
Center (EDC).

Over the years, various YEP activities have been implemented,

culminating in the successful pilot run of "YEP! You Can Be Your
Own Boss (BYOB)" by DTI Region 2 in Santiago, Isabela, from
September 25-28, 2023. This structured learning course
engaged 29 youths, comprising 18 prospective entrepreneurs
and 11 existing ones. The participants benefited from
comprehensive training sessions, hands-on workshops, and
mentorship provided by YEP regional and provincial focal points,
as well as Negosyo Center Business Counselors who acted as
facilitators.
Following the pilot run, the BYOB initiative was expanded to
other provinces, including Cagayan, Nueva Vizcaya, and
Quirino, during November and December 2023 with a total of 60
youths participating. As the partnership with USAID Opportunity
2.0 enters its fifth year, the BYOB modules will now be fully
transitioned to DTI as part of the Youth Entrepreneurship
Program.

On the other hand, YEP! Bootcamp for Young Entrepreneurs is

an intensive 4-day entrepreneurship innovation summit that is
dedicated to providing entrepreneurs with the tools and
resources they need to start and grow successful businesses.
The event is designed to bring together entrepreneurs,
investors, mentors, and experts in the field to discuss the latest
trends, challenges, and opportunities in entrepreneurship.

For 2024, DTI Region 2 aims to conduct both activities to

standardize entrepreneurship training for the youths.

Hence, this proposal.
