My name is Muhammad Arie Purnomo, but you can call me Arie, I was born in
Bulukumba, South Sulawesi province 25 years ago, on February 11, 1999.

2. What school did you attend and when did you graduate? Study which subject?
I attended Politeknik Negeri Ujung Pandang, where I graduated in 2022 with a Diploma
in Civil Engineering, specifically in the Building Construction program.

3. Please introduce your family background (where do you live? How many people are
there in your family? Father’s name, mother’s name, parent’s jobs, telephone number)
I come from Bulukumba it’s a regency with population 470.000 people, which is about a
four-hour drive from Makassar, the capital of South Sulawesi province in Indonesia. My
family consists of four members: my father, my mother, my younger sister, and myself.
My father's name is Burhanuddin Bandu, and he is a farmer. My mother's name is Sitatun
Nikmah, and she is a housewife. My Mothers phone number is +62 878 1626 5979. My
younger sister name is Indriyani Purwasi now she studying mechanical engineering.

4. Do you have any work experience after graduated? What work do you do? How long?
Yes, after graduating in 2022, I started working in the construction field. I have
experience working as a contractor supervisor in contractor company for Pertamina Patra
Niaga terminal port project in Balikpapan East Kalimantan Province. Later, at the end of
2023, I worked as an inspector in consultant company for a consultancy on a road
reconstruction project in Bulukumba, supervising road construction.

5. Do you have any relatives or friends in Taiwan


No, I do not have any relatives in Taiwan, but I have several friends who are now taking
part in the 2+i program at Minghsin University of Science and Technology, I knew them
when we studied at Ujung Pandang State Polytechnic.

6. Have you ever been to Taiwan? If you you have been to Taiwan, please explain how long
you stay and purpose of your visit to Taiwan
No, I have never been to Taiwan

7. Why do you want to study in Taiwan?


I want to study in Taiwan because of its advanced education system and strong emphasis
on practical skills in engineering and technology. Additionally, Taiwan's vibrant culture
and innovative environment provide an excellent opportunity for personal and
professional growth

8. Why you choose Minghsin University of Science and Technology?


I chose Minghsin University of Science and Technology because they offered
Architecture and Construction Management programs that aligned with my dream career.
The curriculum is designed to provide a solid foundation in both theoretical knowledge
and practical skills, which are essential for success in the construction industry.
Additionally, the combination of academic coursework and internship opportunities in the
INTENSE program will allow me to gain valuable hands-on experience and apply what I
have learned in a real-world environment. This comprehensive educational approach

9. Do you know what department you study? Tell me more about the learning content
Yes, I will be studying in the Architecture and Construction Management Practice
program in Civil Engineering Department. The program covers various aspects of
construction management, including project planning, building design, construction
techniques, and sustainable practices. Additionally, the curriculum includes Chinese
language courses to help us achieve TOCFL Level A2 by the end of the second semester.

10. Do you know that you can only work for 20 hours a week during your studies at school?
Yes, I am aware that I can only work for up to 20 hours a week while studying at school.

11. Do you know that you have to pass TOCFL A2 before end of the second semester, and if
you fail to pass you will be expelled?
Yes, I understand that passing TOCFL A2 is a requirement by the end of the second
semester, and failing to do so will result in expelling from the program.

12. What your study plan when studying in Taiwan?


My study plan in Taiwan involves fully engaging in the academic curriculum, particularly
focusing on mastering the subjects in Architecture and Construction Management. I plan
to take advantage of the practical internship opportunities provided by the INTENSE
program to gain hands-on experience. Additionally, I will dedicate significant effort to
learning Chinese to meet the TOCFL A2 requirement at the end of the second semester is
achieved. My goal is to build a strong foundation of knowledge and skills that will
benefit my future career in construction field.
