1. Put the pictures of the famous buildings on the board and elicit vocabulary related to them. Write the
vocabulary on the board.
2. Pupils look at the vocabulary section on page 60. Teacher plays the CD (CD 3, Track 39), pupils point and
repeat.
Lesson delivery
3. Ask pupils about any famous buildings and if they have ever visited one. Play the CD (CD2-Track 40) and
pupils have to follow along silently. Pupils listen carefully in order to match the pictures to the text. (HOTS)
ACTIVITIES 4. Pupils read again and tick the correct answer. Pupils check their answers with someone who read the other
text. They should have a full table of ticks.

6. Pairs of pupils choose a famous building. They make notes about the building based on the questions on the

7. Pupils can begin writing the first draft of a description of the building if there is time in this lesson. They will
