Wood Lab Exercise 2 (C and E)

Refers to the side or part of the body that’s facing forward or towards the front. Opposite of the back side.

Describes something that’s close to or on the surface of the body. It’s like the topmost layer rather than being deep inside.

Indicates a position closer to the point of attachment. It’s like saying nearby in anatomical terms, opposite of dismal.

Refers to a structure that is located below or towards the feet. Positioned at a lower level within the body.

Refers to a position that’s closer to the midline of the body. Towards the center, opposite of lateral.

Refers to a position further from the point of attachment. Ex: the fingers are distal to the wrist.

Refers to a structure being positioned above or higher than another structure in the body.

Refers to a structure being located farther away from the surface of the body. Opposite of superficial.

Refers to a position or direction away from the midline of the body. Towards the sides, opposite of medial.
