The Gift of the Magi

By O. Henry

What makes the story The Gift of the Magi so powerful is Jim and Della’s sacrifice, to lay down
something they truly value, in order to express their love for one another. After I finished reading the story, I
began to believed that love is sacrifice, and once you can feel on it, you can create ideas that implement what
you want for your loved one. You will do everything no matter what, for the happiness of all. Like my love for
my family even if it’s hard to do I’m willing to sacrifice on it. Just like the story I think I began to think of wild
ideas which I can give my love ones to make them happy.

The moral lessons of the story The Gift of the Magi is that sacrifice, selflessness and love are the greatest
gifts of all. In the story Jim and Della are in love. They both yearn to find the best gift for each other. Both
acted selflessly to show their love, they are willing to give up what means the most of them. The story explains
that you have her or him you’re contented, it is all about happiness too. Despite of happiness they sacrifice
one’s thing. You can’t bring all things in heaven but love can bring forever. The Gift of the Magi story is that
feeling and showing what is truly felt will be done as long as possible without doubt. And also you have to be
content with what you have. In this story is that people are willing to give up what means the most to them for
the person they love. The couple acts on impulse as each strives to please their spouse. Again, love, sacrifice
and selflessness is the moral lessons in this story as which is very important for a human being.
