Dt.07.05.2024 and . subsequent, Corrigendum letter No.8412/Elec. Dt.08.05.2024 on the subject cited above, | am directed to convey the sanction of the Governor on payment of packed lunch and /or light refreshment etc. to the Polling Personnel and Security personnel requisitioned’ deployed on Election duty during the ensuing Simultaneous General Election to Lok Sabha & Odisha Legislative Assembly, 2024. 2. For smooth conduct of election, the + Commission vide _ letter No.464/INST/EPS/2023/Remuneration & TA/DA dated 06.06.2023 and subsequent, clarification dated.17.06.2023 has recommended rates of Remuneration, TAIDA and payment of packed lunch and/or light refreshment etc. to be paid to the Polfing personnel and Security personnel who have been called upon to attend the Training Sessions, collecting Polling Material and for performing Polling duty on polling Day/ Counting day. 3. The rates of Remuneration in respect of Polling personnel and Security Personnel requisitioned! deployed on Election duty during the ensuing Simultaneous General Election to Lok Sabha & Odisha Legislative Assembly, 2024 have already been issued vide this Department letter No.8334/Elec. Dt.07.05.2024 and subsequent, Corrigendum letter No.8412/Elec. Dt.08.05.2024 The rates of Remuneration shall be payable for a maximum period of five days(for 2nd to 5th Polling Officer)! six days(for presiding and ‘st Polling Officer who attend three round of training in person) limited to actual period of deployment for both physical/offline training and Polling duties). Similarly, the rates of Remuneration for security personnel requisitioned/ deployed on Election duty shall be payable for a maximum period of five days limited to actual period of deployment 4, Polling personnel including Security personnel, personnel in mobile parties, Home Guards, Forest Guards, Gram Rakhi, NCC Cadets, Ex-Service Men Volunteers etc. Or EC-ACCT-ALLOT-0001-2023/01/2024deployed at all Polling Stations/ Counting center for election related work shall be provided with packed lunch and /or light refreshment @Rs.150/- (Rupees One Hundred Fifty) only per head on the day of Poll/ Counting. In case of difficulty in providing packed lunch and/ or light refreshment, a cash payment of @Rs.150/- (Rupees One Hundred Fifty) only per head shall be made. 5, Polling/ counting personnel deployed on reserve duty shall also be eligible for remuneration & refreshment charges. 6. Sometimes the security personnel, after having completed poll duty in one District / Constituency are required to go on poll duty in other District(s) / Constituencies. In that case they shall be extended similar facilities for actual period of deployment limited to maximum of five days in each phase. 7. Admissible TA/DA payable to Polling personnel deployed on election duty shall be paid as per norms by their concerned Parent Departments from the budget allocation of Home (Election) Department under the unit "Demand no.01-2015-Elections-00-104- Charges for Conduct of Jt. Election to Lok Sabha & State Legislative. Assembly - 0784-. Joint Election-13002- Charges for Conduct of Elections other than Police Arrangement". This facility will be available only till end of Financial Year 2024-25. The unit can also be used for drawal of TA/DA for disbursement centrally to polling and other personnel engaged in election process for conduct of the joint election.
