Assessment

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

• Identify the pre-requisites for renewal of a medical


assessment by Class 2 applicants.
• Define the renewal process for a class 2 medical
assessment.
• List down different sections from a medical form.
• Apply validation and business rules.
Introduction
The Directorate of Medical is responsible for the approval and
issuance of Class I, II and III medical assessment to a pilot
applicant/Air Taxi and Commercial Operator (ATCO) which is a
pre-requisite for issuing a license.

This training aims at covering the following topics:

• Renewal of class 2 medical assessment.


• The pre-requisites and process flow for obtaining a
medical assessment.
• The components of a form used for filing a
medical assessment (Renewal).
• The roles and responsibilities of each party involved.
Introduction
All candidates must obtain a medical clearance each time they wish to get their licenses renewed.
This topic gives an insight to the procedure of undergoing the renewal of a medical examination with an approved medical
authority as per the medical standards notified by the Medical Directorate of DGCA. In this training we will cover the
renewal procedure for Class 2 candidates. Class 2 medical assessment is required for applicants and holders of:

All candidates must obtain a medical clearance each year.

Validation and Business Rules: General Rules for Medical Application

Listed below some general validation and business rules for issuance of a medical assessment:

• The Applicant must apply 0-30 days prior to expiry of validity for renewal.
• Applicant will be restricted to the mentioned Air force center in the last assessment. Else he/ she will proceed with DGCA
Empaneled Examiner
• Actual window for booking appointment is 30 days or less than validity date. For early or delayed appointment, NOC is
required
• Applicant is allowed to upload Test reports within 0-30 days of appointment date in case of Air Force Centers and before
it reaches back office, till application is marked fit/unfit after medical examination and certificate generated in case of
DGCA Empaneled Examiners
• Cancel/ Update appointment option is with the applicant (2 days prior to appointment date in case of Air Force/before
the import of application by DGCA Empaneled Examiners)
• A medical examiner cannot consecutively examine an applicant for next 2 years. Example:- Year 2019 Examiner A, Year
2020 Examiner B, Year 2021 Examiner C. Again Applicant can appoint Examiner A in 2022.
• Medical Declaration Revalidation is editable till e-Application is imported by DGCA Empaneled Examiner. Applicant needs
to revalidate the declaration on the day of visiting the examiner/ center.

Troubleshoot options

• In case of network lost or application taking too much time to load, then “Refresh” the application.
• At the time of “Search”, the Application ID or eGCA ID should not contain space.
• If DMS(CA)/Medical Assessor wants some re-examination for particular section(Medical/Eye/ENT/Aviation Medicine), they will
“Send Back” to the examiner. Examiner can find that applications under “Examination to be Conducted” section and only the
particular section would be available to edit.
