Dear Students and Parents of Grades 9 & 11 (2023-24 Batch),

The CBSE Board Examinations for Grades 10 & 12 are happening in February, March & April
2024. As you may be aware, it has been a conscious practice that our students volunteer to
support their fellow peers with special needs as writers/readers for their examinations.

The CBSE has made it mandatory that the scribe be a student from Grade 9 (for 10th Board) and
Grade 11 (for 12th Board). This circular is a call for volunteers from students of Grade 9 & 11
(23-24 batch) to assist our children with special needs.

Benefits of Volunteering as a Scribe:

● Volunteers will receive a letter of appreciation from the school for the same.
● It will give them an opportunity to get an experience of the Board Examination
● The Examination will usually be of 3 hours duration with 1-hour extra time. These four
hours will count for their SEWA grade in the next academic session.

The Examination will happen in a center outside the school (Details will be shared closer to
the exam).

Who can be a scribe/writer?

Any Grade 9 and 11 student with good comprehension, spellings and handwriting. The writer
should be someone empathetic and sensitive to the child's needs. A writer does NOT need to
learn or read anything for the exam. They should only write what the child directs.

Volunteers are requested to fill this form (and upload the attached parental consent form here)
and submit it ASAP.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

● Your ward is requested to be in school uniform and carry his/her school identity card on
the scheduled dates.
● Your ward must carry a passport size photograph on the day of examination.
● They can either reach the center directly (to be announced by the CBSE) or reach the school
on the day of the examination. More details will be provided closer to the exam.
● Bags are not allowed inside the board center. Students are requested to carry their own
transparent water bottles and sanitizers. They must wear their masks at all times
mandatorily.
