Dos & Don’ts for IoT Solutions

DON’TS

• Do not over cool the room; do not leave the temperature set point to minimum.

• Excessive cooling is a waste of electricity and bad for health.

• Avoid high heat load in the room.

• Prevent direct sunlight into the room by using curtains, awning, sun shade, etc.

• Do not open windows or doors for a long time while the unit is running.

• Do not put heating apparatus too close to the thermostat it will also increase the room’s heat
load, causing insufficient cooling.

• Do not step on or do not put heavy loads on VAV. So that it can be damaged and the duct
joints may leak.

• Make sure the VCD dampers nearby the VAVs should not be modulated manually after the
Air Balancing completion, doing so will affect the VAVs to supply insufficient air flow.

• Do not pull out the power cord when the power is on.

• Do not pull out the VAQ communication cables in absence of our technician.

• Do not pull out the VAV to thermostat communication cables in absence of HVAC technician

DOs

Service and maintain your VAV regularly.

• Make sure there are no dust particles flowing through the Duct to VAV, those dust particles
may stuck in VAV Flow sensor & VAV will not be able to give sufficient air flow as per the
design.

• There should not be any air flow leakage; this would affect the VAVs to supply insufficient air flow.

• Set the temperature set point as per the design Min/Max for optimum comfort.

• Make sure the VAVs are always in ON condition & all the cable are properly connected
(Power cable, VAV to VAV communication cable & thermostat cables).
• VFD should always run the AHU fan speed as per the design CFM of that particular AHU.
Running the VFD below the required speed may affect the VAVs to supply insufficient air flow.
And running the VFD above the required speed may damage the VAV flow sensors & its
damper.

• VAVs should always run on UPS power supply only. In case of raw power, the VAVs
controllers & thermostat might get shot circuit if any fluctuations happen.

Dos & Don’ts for IoT Components

Dos

• Please provide the UPS power to the DDC Panels, Giving raw power may shot circuit the
DDC Controllers

• Keep the sensors clean from outside part only.

• If any fault LED found on any of the Controllers & Integrators, please do contact our team.
(Please refer Escalation Matrix)

Don’ts

• The Sensors should not be removed & relocated.

• Do not open the sensor cover or its case for any cleaning purpose or checking purpose.

• Do not switch off the power of any of the DDC panel from outside panel or inside the panel.

• Do not remove or unplug any of the cables including power & communication cables from
DDC Panel, BMS Panel as well as any of the sensors.

• Do not unplug any cables from BMS IO Controllers inside the DDC Panel.

• Do not unplug the RJ45 Network cable from any of the integrator or network Hub.

• Removal of cables & reconnecting the cables incorrectly will mal function the whole BMS
software system.

• There should not be any water leakage falls on DDC Panel.

INSPECTION PROCEDURAL CHECKLIST

FOR INSPECTING IoT & DDC PANEL.

• Wear personal safety protection, including glasses and gloves.

• Check adequate workspace.

• Panel must be readily accessible.

• Use proper inspection tools, insulated screwdriver, and flashlight.

• Check adequate illumination at workspace.

• Check for incorrect type of screws or missing screws at the cabinet front cover.

• Safe removal of cabinet front cover.

• No foreign objects or contamination inside cabinet.

• Check entrance conductors and lugs.

• No melted conductor insulation.

• No rust, corrosion, or water inside cabinet.

• Check for damage to wires.

• Check for damage to insulation sheathing.

• Confirm AMPS and VOLTS are identified on label.

• Check the tightness of DDC Controller connectors.

• Check the tightness of DDC connections.

• Never leave exposed panel board unattended.
