Transformation of Equation

Transformation of Equation

Let ax2 + bx + c = 0 be a quadratic equation with two roots 𝛂 &

𝛃. If we have to find an equation whose roots are f(𝛂) and f(𝛃),
i.e some expression in 𝛂 & 𝛃 then this equation can be found
by finding 𝛂 in terms of y. Now as 𝛂 satisfies given equation,
put this 𝛂 in terms of y directly in the equation
Example
If  ,  are the roots of the quadratic equation a𝑥2 + b𝑥 + c = 0 then
find quadratic equation whose roots are
1) 2,2 2) 2 ,  2

𝛂+𝟏 𝛃+𝟏 𝛂 𝛃
3) +1,+1 4) , 5) ,
𝟏−𝛂 𝟏 −𝛃 𝛃 𝛂
