This Article Develop Into The Role Of Homoeopathic medicine Carbo veg In Treatment Of
Diabetic Food Gangrene. While conventional medicine, primary focus on symptom
management and surgical interventions, homeopathy adopt a causes and base approach,
targeting the root cause to promote holistic healing. This study explore the methodology
of individualised homeopathic treatment. Emphasising the importance of positive factor is
specific to each patient. The article illustrate how homeopathic practitioner assess various
aspects such as lifestyle, emotional well-being and past medical history to identify the
unique etiological factor contributing to diabetes mellitus & diabetic foot gangrene.

Obviating Surgical Imputation of diabetic food gangrene through homeopathic medicine and
management by controlling blood glucose level and curing the foot gangrene, which was

Case summary

A 54 years old man presented with DM2 and deteriorated diabetic food gangrene in both of
his legs. Which was stinking all the way with profuse discharge since 15 years

Complaint with pain and numbness , sticky watery discharge from toes of both legs there was
an offensive smell spreading all around,sweetness of mouth,back pain & profuse perspiration
.

He was diagnosed with DM2 and foot gangrene and advice to undergo surgical imputation by a
local surgeon to stop the spread of gangrene.

Which have no certainty of cure by the process he comes in very unstable mindset in another
word very confused & hopeless. After detailed case, taking analysis and repertorization CARBO
VEG 200 CH was prescribed. Gradually within a week there was an impactful changes occurs
which was easily observable and was bandaged with calendula q and washed with sodium
solution for disinfectant Within 3-4 months, there was improvement in the limbs without any
surgical intervention. And completely cured in 8 month.

Introduction-

Gangrene is defined as the decay or the death of an organ or tissue due to compromise blood
supply. It is perilous and fatal condition occurring most commonly due to diabetes .In general,
people with diabetes have a significantly increased risk of lower extremity, leading to
amputation.

Gangrene is the localised death of a tissue caused by the inadequate blood supply, which may
result from injury infection and diabetes mellitus.

CASE REPORT-

Patient history-

A 54 years old man presented with Diabetic Foot Gangrene. It was known case of DM II since
last 15 years and he was on oral hypoglycaemic medicines ( Metformin 500 mg ,Teneligliptin
20mg ).He comes with offensive discharges on both grate toe. Acidity, constipation, insomnia ,
anxiety, restlessness. Extremely dull and unemotional.

He was advised to undergo Surgical imputation of great toe by a local surgeon at earliest to
avoid and stop the spread of gangrene. There was an offensive watery discharges from the
ulcer. The smell was overwhelming and resemble rotten stuff.

Past history

He was suffered from pneumonia at the age of two year .

Epistaxis on every summer season having dark brown colour of blood.

Weakness of memory and slowness of thoughts .

Flatterer and desires flattery

Anger with pale colour of face .

Physical general

He suffered from prolong constipation with absent urging of stool. Though the body is cold to
touch, patient wants to be fanned constantly, rapidly and from near. Excessive flatulence of
stomach and bowels, belching gives relief. Desire for cold drinks, lemonade and soda drinks,

Selection of remedy

On the basis of reportorial syndrome, well selected remedy is carbo veg 200.

Prescription and follow up

On the day of visit, CARBO VEG 200 CH was prescribed 1*TID FOR NEXT 3 DAYS

Followed by a placebo 1*BID for 10 days. During this period, the wound is steadily healed and
no other alternative treatment was given except calendula q for cleaning the wound.

Follow up Criteria

Gangrene was completely healed with carbo veg and all symptoms of the patient were markedly
improved. Pain completely disappeared. So patient discontinued the treatment. Gangrene and associated
symptoms were monitored. The detailed follow–up of the case has been presented in the [Table1].
During treatment sugar level of the patient was regularly monitored by his endocrinologist.
The modified Naranjo criteria, proposed by the clinical data working group of the homeopathic
pharmacopoeia of the United States, for assigning the casual attribution between homeopathic medicine
applied to the changes occurred in the patient , have been applied to this case and the total score
outcome is 8.

Discussion

This case report describe the effectiveness of homeopathic treatment in diabetes. The patient has start
homoeopathic treatment to avoid amputation. The above case was of a case of dry gangrene. This case
report shows the importance of homoeopathic treatment in dry gangrene. Patient took homoeopathic
treatment in spite of conventional treatment because there was no improvement in his condition. Patient
was not able to tolerate pain despite of taking 4-5 painkillers daily. At this stage patient comes to consult
Homoeopathic physician. The homoeopathic remedy carbo veg 200ch, was prescribed taking into
consideration of patient as a whole. In the next visit patient discharge reduced and offensive odour of the
affected part is disappear . During further follow-ups healing accelerates and marked improvement seen
in his all symptoms and also on the blood sugar levels [Table 1: follow-up on gangrene case].The total
score of outcome 9 as the Modified Naranjo Criteria in this case, shows the definite causal attribution of
homoeopathic treatment with the outcome.

Thus this case shows a miraculous cure of gangrene with homoeopathic treatment .The patient was
advised to continue the oral hypoglycaemic drugs but all other medicines such as antibiotic,
multivitamins, blood thinners etc. were stopped. The auxiliary management such as diet regimen, proper
leg care and dressing with homoeopathic external application-Calendula Q (mother tincture) was advised
for dressing daily. The improvement assessment was done objectively by taking periodical photographs of

the gangrene before, during and at the end of treatment. The gangrene took up to 4 months to
completely heal.

As per literature carbo veg, is an important remedy for gangrene, It is highly beneficial in treating
gangrene in aged people with a foul smell and bluish skin. anxiety about health, diabetes mellitus and
blackening of skin . However, 50% of new cases of diabetes mellitus can be adequately controlled by diet
. The importance of life style changes such as taking regular exercise, healthy diet, reducing alcohol
consumption should not be underestimated in improving diabetes. Patient should also be encouraged to
stop smoking.

Naranjo criteria, the total score was 9. Out of 10 It was suggestive of a definite association between the
medicine and outcome.

The above case show the usefulness of homeopathic treatment in the management of DMII , diabetic
Foot gangrene and prevention of limb for amputation.

Conclusion

The case report shows that surgical case of diabetic gangrene can be manage as well with homeopathic
treatment. We can see the potential homeopathic remedy in the treating such different difficult case. In
this case, the gangrene part was solved for within a short period. Good control of blood glucose level was
noted along with improvement of general condition in the bail that homeopathy may be useful in treating
lifestyle disease like diabetes, colitis, especially when surgical intervention like amputation become the
primary choice of it, in the future, large sample size based on the control, history would be confirmed the
effectiveness of homoeopathy such cases
