language speaking (English), extracurricular activities for

3. Learning programme

Activity 1 / Day 1: School presentations / Cultural visit

During the first day the students will be welcomed at the
school by the Head of School and a presentation about Newark
School will be delivered. Following this presentation the
Learning methods: students will be split into groups and allocated to different
classes. The students will then make a short presentation
about their school to the students of Newark and ice breaker
activities will follow.
The students will enjoy their first cultural visit to Valletta. The
group shall be accompanied by an English speaking tour guide
where they will enjoy a walking tour of the capital city and
Learning outcomes: learn about the historic sites in Valletta including: Republic
Street, Parliament, Castille Square and the office of the Prime
Minister, St. John’s Co-Cathedral, St George’s Square,
Merchants Street and Barraka Gardens.

Activity 2 / Day 2 : Activities in the school by using recycle material / Cultural visit-
guided tour of Rabat and Mdina
Learning methods: At school the students will follow classes in English with the

students of Newark using the buddy system. During the day

they will also carry out activities at school using recycled
material in line with the expectations of the project.
The students will visit Rabat and Mdina with an English
speaking tour guide and they will visit the sites in Rabat and
Mdina which is the old capital city, now known as the silent

city. The group will walk around the city, visit the Cathedral
and various view points and baroque buildings.

Activity 3 / Day 3 : Creating Poster about Green World With Canva and Word Art
Creator Cultural visit-guided tour of Gozo
The group will create a poster about Green World using
Learning methods: Canva/Word Art create to promote a greener and more
sustainable environment.
The students will visit the sister island of Malta, Gozo with an
English speaking tour guide. The group will cross over to Gozo
from Cirkewwa and the tour will start in Mgarr, going to
Learning outcomes:
Victoria which is the capital city of Gozo and visiting the old
Citadel. A visit to the salt pans and Ramla bay will also take
place together with a stop at other historic view points.

Activity 4 / Day 4 : Let’s make the journal of the week using Story Jumper/ Collage
technique & Let’s test our knowledge about environmental protection with Kahoot!-
mixed teams
The group will prepare a journal of the week so far using story
Learning jumper or the collage technique. Moreover the group will also be
methods: split into teams and will participate in a Kahoot! Quiz about the
knowledge in relation to the protection of the environment.

Activity 5/ Day 5 : Evaluation -Final questionnaire / Certification Ceremony

On the final day the students will be asked to fill in a feedback
questionnaire about their mobility in Malta, complete any

unfinished tasks and a certification ceremony will take place to
present the mobility certificates to the students.
