SCOPE OF THE PROJECT

This project is expected to assess the cable bolt performance so as to control the dilution in open
stope during mining operations to reduce the unwanted material that will lead to the lower
material recovery that results in dilution which has a direct influence on the cost of stope, and
ultimately on profitability of mining operation. The selection criteria used for study is limited to
geological properties on the geotechnical zones with similar properties are grouped together,
then one zone is selected as representative to other remained zones with similar geological
properties. Selection made as follows, for all zones with Thick Argillite (GZ-TA) zone 2 will
be representative, for all zones with Competent Ground (GZ-CG) zone 9 will be
representative, for all zones with Highly Foliated (GZ-HF) zone B will be representative and
finally for zones with Highly Stress (GZ-HS) zone C will be representative. The selected zones
will be representatives to other zones with the same geological characteristics of rock mass of an
open stope.

DATA COLLECTION
