1. a) Define the below terms as used in photogrammetry (4mks)
i) Interior orientation
ii) Fiducial marks
c) With the aid of a diagram, explain the functions: (16 mks)
i) the camera magazine
ii) the camera body
iii) the lens cone assembly

2. a) Outline four types of photogrammetry based on the camera position (8marks)

b) List four areas where remote sensing is applied (4marks)

c) Classify aerial cameras according to the angular field of view, stating their
respective focal length (8marks)

3. a) Describe the procedure of processing black and white film (10marks)

b) An aerial photograph was taken at a flying height of 5000m above mean sea
level using a150mm focal length. The distance between two road intersections was
measured as 60.4mm and 29.7mm on a photograph and map scale of 1:50,000
respectively. Calculate; (10marks)
i. the photo scale
ii. the average ground height of the area
iii. the ground distance between the two road intersections

4. a)State the applications of aerial surveying. (10 mks)


b) Discuss any Five characteristics that distinguish a vertical aerial photograph
from a topographical map. (10 mks)
