3.2.1 Thando believes that business success should not be measured by money alone, but
also by other criteria. Suggest three ways in which Thando can show his commitment to
education and three ways in which he can care for his staff. (12)
Commitment to education
• Thando can sponsor the school in the immediate vicinity, e.g. its sport teams
• He can help with capital projects, e.g. the shortage of classrooms.
• He can help less privileged children get uniforms.
• He can establish a feeding scheme for the less fortunate learners.
• He can sponsor educational material, e.g. textbooks.

Commitment to staff
• He can involve staff in the decision-making process
• He can organise fringe benefits for the staff, e.g. housing, pensions and medical aid.

• Individual team members need to make a conscious effort to get the group to
