a motivated Steel Fixer to join our Civil and Constructions Team. This position will report to the
Steel Fixer Foreman.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Measure, cut, bend, and shape steel bars or mesh to specifications for construction
projects.
• Install and secure steel bars or mesh to reinforce concrete structures such as buildings,
bridges, and roads.
• Interpret construction plans and drawings to determine the layout and placement of steel
reinforcement.
• Ensure that steel reinforcement is installed according to engineering and safety standards.
• Inspect and assess existing structures for damage or deterioration, and recommend
appropriate steel reinforcement solutions.
• Operate tools and equipment such as rebar cutters and benders, tying machines, and
welding equipment.
• Coordinate with other construction workers and contractors to ensure timely completion
of projects.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries on the job
site.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, and properly store tools and equipment when
not in use.
• Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked for reporting
purposes.

Qualification

• High school diploma. Applicants should successfully complete a Steel Fixer apprenticeship
program as it is required.
• Minimum qualification of SSCE/WASSCE or Vocational Trade Certificate
Experience

• Minimum of 2 - 3 years’ experience in a mining setting would be an advantage


• Excellent interpersonal, listening and communication skills
• Ability to perform in a self-directed manner within a fast paced, team environment.
Technical Competencies:

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and drawings to determine the
layout and placement of steel reinforcement.
• Knowledge of various types of steel reinforcement materials, tools, and equipment used
in steel fixing, such as rebar cutters, benders, tying machines, and welding equipment.
• Ability to measure, cut, bend, and shape steel bars or mesh to specifications accurately

• Leads and controls Steel Fixers engaged in all activities concerned with the civil
works. Ability to optimize resources (equipment and materials) to ensure efficient
and timely completion of the works. Able to demonstrate good organizational skills,
following policies, procedures and work practices.
• Ability to read, interpret and follow method statements and procedures,
specifications, drawings and all other disciplines related project and engineering
documentation.
• Command respect of his workforce. And develop essential working relationships
with all other department personnel.
• Must be a good communicator. Able to give instructions in an efficient and effective
way to his workforce. Liasises with other discipline foremen to ensure the optimum
utilization of available work, with the overall objective of successful completion of
the project.
• Leads and supervises workers engaged in civil works and assist the civil supervisor
in the coordination a performance of related activities such as setting out, rebar
fixing and bar bending etc.
• Ensure that work crews are properly supplied with tools, equipment and materials.
Prevents wastage and misuse of equipment, material and tools. Supervises work
crews to best utilize manpower and materials, exercise discipline at the work site
to prevent absenteeism, unsafe work practices and idleness.
• Familiar with all company safety and QA/QC procedures, regulations and strictly
enforces them with the workforce under his responsibility.

Qualification

• High school diploma. Applicants should successfully complete a Steel Fixer apprenticeship
program as it is required.

report to the senior operator.

• Attend and participate in daily safety discussions, periodic safety meetings, routine and
statutory safety inspections, and planned task observations as required.
• Perform and complete field level risk assessments prior to, and throughout work

prevent incident or injury.
• Correct and report unsafe behaviours, actions, and conditions identified throughout the
course of their work activities to ensure immediate resolution.

• At least 5years experience in roller operation.


• Must have a mining working experience. Tailing construction will be preferred.

Other Competencies and Qualifications

• A certified Min-Com. Qualification as an operator.
