Technical Characteristics
With over 4 decades of experience and the strong ability to integrate advanced technological innovation into our pole we are able to offer the most
effective and creative solutions. Klite’s pole design, production and finishing processes have several technical characteristics that form the bases of
effective design and safety.
Our architectural poles are engineered to take a wide range of Luminaries and brackets. Engineering parameters vary depending upon material,
lighting load, type of bracket, tower weight, local soil and environment conditions.
Structural design also varies based on terrain category and reference wind speed factor.

Creativity Takes Wings At K-LITE
K-Lite is consistently striving to develop complete lighting solutions from designing to finished products to maximize function, while enhancing visual
appeal. From bespoke design services, to almost any combination of pole, luminaire and finish Klite can truly build a unique solution for your projects.
To do so we have all the facilities for in-house product development and production capacities from small quantities to mega projects. With K-LITE,
it’s easy to find that perfect pole that seamlessly merges into the setting you want.
Production Process
Fabrication
K-LITE realizes the significance of an advanced production facility. With our constant focus on quality, we ensure that our production facility is
well-equipped with state-of-the-art technology. From Laser and plasma cutting machines to folding and robotic welding of sheets, plates and tubes,
every process takes place with utmost precision to deliver you nothing but the best in the world of poles solutions.
Our automatic conical plant line guarantees excellent results in terms of pole strength, finish and aesthetics. Our Hydraulically swaged series of poles
are press fit steel sections, combined with automated roto welding process to ensure perfect welding and clean finish. Our certified welders use a
unique V groove technique to weld pole sections, following a high-end MIG welding process.
In addition, certain design elements require the use of specific processed tools and dies in manufacturing. From aluminium extrusion to steel forging,
gravity cast aluminum, cast iron, shell moulding and pressure die casting are performed adhering to the top-quality benchmarks. Once the fabrication
process is completed, our poles move to the shot blasting plant for surface preparation.
Bracket Options
Klite poles can be fitted with single or multi light fixture arms in order to
install one or more light sources. Wall mounting options are also
available to complete a particulate series.
Materials
In order to ensure quality, K-Lite uses material that are tested and comply
with the following standards.
The door of the pole is often a target of vandalism. Our door is contoured
to the pole’s shape. We also provide a safety rope to interlink the pole with
the door cover. This eliminates the possibility of misplacing / theft during regular maintenance.
Foundation Details
No pole would stand to the test of time without a solid foundation. This is
why K-LITE pays utmost attention to detail when it comes to the surface
mounting base plates. The dimensions and thickness of these plates are
determined based on topography, condition of the soil, the pole’s design
and the wind load.
To make sure our lighting poles are not just strong but also highly stable,
we provide additional gussets based on dimension and design of the
poles. For additional stability circumferential fillet welding of the base plate with the pole shaft is also done from inside and outside. For Aluminium
Poles, Light building elements and certain pole types, the base is specially designed with an internal reinforcement steel core that is welded to the
base plate. This design gives extra strength to the section around the door area. This solution is stronger as the tension and the effect of torsion is
also reduced.
The elongated foundation holes in the base plate are designed in such a way that fine adjustments / alignment during the pole’s installation can be
made quickly.
To ensure longevity we recommend and supply hot dip GI foundation bolts and nuts for high corrosion resistance and durability.
Finishing Process
To improve the performance of our lighting poles exposure to various
atmospheric conditions, we follow a stringent finishing process at K-lite
which comprises of the following :
Post fabrication, the poles and brackets are moved to the shot/ sweep
blasting line.
This process not only cleans but also provides an uncontaminated surface that sets the base for the primer process, which is done immediately with
in minutes of blasting to prevent the newly exposed surface from oxidation while enhancing their endurance for the future layers.
With our high-end equipment, shots and inspections, we ensure surface preparation that exceeds the industry benchmarks.
A. Paint Process
Once the shot blasting process is completed, the newly exposed surface is then coated using :
Zinc Rich Epoxy Primer Coating – It’s a two-pack system enriched with metallic zinc to provide excellent performance even in moderate corrosive
settings. While metallic zinc imparts cathodic protection to the base metal, epoxide groups react with polyamide/amine additives to form a tough,
non-convertible film at ambient temp or elevated temp. With its ability to absorb UV radiation, this coating helps resist photodegradation driven by UV
light. KLITE poles are primer coated with a film thickness of 50-60 Microns. The final finish is as important as any other part of the process. After the
application of the zinc rich epoxy primer coating, the poles are then finished with UV-stabilized polyurethane-based paint with a 50-60 microns coat
for a long-lasting finish. We offer a wide range of RAL color selection to suit various applications. This ensures a long-lasting finish that adds
dimension to the product while giving it a unique expression. For highly corrosive environments there is a 3 step paint process that is recommended.
For additional information please consult your local sales representative.

B. Powder Coating Process
Standard: Post surface preparation of shot or Grit blasting, an electrostatically pure polyester powder coated finish is applied in a range of RAL colors.
This is suitable for standard applications.
To further their corrosion protection abilities: We also have a two-pack powder coating process post blasting. A specially designed powder coating
primer suitable for use in highly corrosive environments and gives truly heavy duty performance when applied with a standard polyester topcoat. The
combined primer and top coat give a standard performance of 3000 hrs of netural salt spray test. This process significantly extends the life of the
poles, without harming the environment as powder coating means no toxic wastes are produced as no solvents are used.
Final finish is done with the desired RAL color of UV-stabilized pure polyester powder coating. The result is a durable finish that resists most acids,
chemicals, fuels, UV light and many more elements. For highly corrosive environments there is a three layer powder coating system is recommended.
For additional information please consult your local sales representative.
Special Finishes
K-LITE seamlessly combines style and elegance with a wide range of exceptional finishing options. Apart from the paint and powder coated finishes,
K-LITE also caters to special finish requests, including antique copper, silver, gold or Platina finishes.
These finishes are artistically hand done over the painted or powder coated surface and then sealed with an additional matt lacquer coat to ensures
longevity of the finish. Alternatively, we can also offer “Hot dip galvanised” (HDG) finish based on specific needs.
The Environment
K-LITE’s commitment to the environment needs no introduction.
In all our facilities, the emphasis is on environmentally friendly processes and our shot blasting process is no
exception. It is one of the best environmentally friendly methods for corrosion/ grease removal and surface
preparation for painting or powder coating. By eliminating the usage of non-eco-friendly and harsh chemical
processes, shot blasting is one of the critical techniques to ensure the environment’s safety – thanks to no
chemical and acid use.Our Powder coating process is also an environmentally friendly, with no volatile
organic compounds and no toxic heavy metals used. In addition over sprayed powders can be re-used and re
cycled.
Packing
We do everything we can to ship your order in the most environmentally responsible way possible. We are also constantly searching for the most
innovative solutions for eco-conscious shipping.
