Thank you m ’am is a short story about respect that reveals the central

message that instead of stealing from people if you respectfully ask for
something you're more likely to get something out of it. Evidence of this is
when Mrs. Jones took Roger to her house to get him cleaned up and Roger said,
“I wanted a pair of blue suede shoes.” “Well, you didn’t have to try to steal
my pocketbook to get some suede shoes.” Mrs. Jones replied. “You could have
asked me.” This shows that Roger could have asked Mrs. Jones for a pair of
blue suede shoes. that supports my claim by showing that Roger would have
just been able to ask Mrs. Jones and he wouldn’t have to be dragged to Mrs.
Jones house. My second piece of evidence is that when roger was handed $10 by
Mrs. jones to go buy some shoes for himself. My reasoning is that when roger
got handed the money he probably felt very confused about why the person he
just tried to steal from was handing him money. This shows that Mrs. jones is
a very kind person because $10 back in 1930 was around $182! By handing him
the money she told roger a message that you can get things by being kind to
others and if you're trying to take stuff from others without saying a word.
