Suturing Module

Infiltration of anesthesia
– Lidocaine is usually used as an anesthetic agent.
– Compute for the safe dose you can give to the patient.
– Withdraw with a syringe the desired amount to be used.
– Inject to the desired area subcutaneously cautiously.
– Test for the anesthesia.

Simple Interrupted Suturing Technique


– materials used: suturing pad, needle holder, pick up forceps, scissors,
and sutures
– Hold the needle holder with the ring finger and thumb of your dominant
hand.
– Hold the pick up forceps with the other hand with a pencil grip.
– Load the suture to the needle holder properly.
– Start suturing by approaching one side with the needle 1 cm from the
edge perpendicular to the tissue sutured.
– Gentle rotation of the wrist subsequently follows until the suture exits on
the other surface.
– The length of the suture is adjusted and either one hand knot tie, two
hand knot or an instrument knot tie is performed.
– Suture scissors can cut the knot at 1 cm.
– The procedure is repeated along the entire length of the wound.
