Population is defined as all nationals present in, or temporarily absent from a

country, and aliens permanently settled in a country. This indicator shows the
number of people that usually live in an area. Growth rates are the annual
changes in population resulting from births, deaths and net migration during
the year
Population is the term typically used to refer to the number of people in a single area. Governments
conduct a census to quantify the size of a resident population within a given jurisdiction.

A population is defined as a group of individuals of the same species living and interbreeding within
a given area. Members of a population often rely on the same resources, are subject to similar
environmental constraints, and depend on the availability of other members to persist over time.

What is Population? A discrete assemblage of entities with identifiable characteristics such as


people, animals with the objective of analysis and data collection is called a population. It consists of
a similar group of species who dwell in a particular geographical location with the capacity to
interbreed.
