A paper submitted under the partial fulfillment for the subject: ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOUR

TOPIC: PERSONAL LEARNING PROGRAM (PLP)

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT I thank Prof. Rangana for giving me such an interesting project and guidance for the same. I thank my family and friends and whosoever has helped me directly or indirectly for the project.

PERSONAL LEARNING PROGRAM (PLP) 1. STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESS:

The strengths and weakness of a person basically show the areas where the individual is strong and where does his drawback lie so that he can improve upon the weakness and continue his strengths, with more concentration on them. Following are my strengths and weakness: STRENGTHS Organizational and leadership qualities Committed and dedicated Fast learner Good communications skills Conceptual thinking Flexible to situations As I need to even concentrate on my weakness too I am trying to work on them by concentrating on my areas of interest that is listening to music, reading books, surfing and socializing. The book that I had taken for the synopsis was: HOW TO WIN FRIENDS AND INFLUENCE PEOPLE by DALE CARNEGIE which is one of the best self help books. WEAKNESS Emotional Judgmental Impatient when work is not completed on time A bit lazy when it comes to personal work

2. M.B.T.I. TEST:
The Mayers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) test is one of the assessment tool on how an individual feels and acts in a particular situation. On this basis the individuals are classified as Extrovert-Introvert, Sensing-Intuitive, ThinkingFeeling and Judging-Perceiving.

There is no in-between solution to these measures. I.e. the person cant be extrovert and introvert at the same time. It happens to be a valuable tool for self awareness and providing guidance. The following result was evaluated for me when I undertook the test: Extrovert: I am outgoing, sociable and assertive person Sensing: I came in the category of practical personality and prefer routine order Thinking: My measure came out to be a person with logical thinking and solving problems based on situation. Also I had a minor result more based on feeling because I do value my values and take into consideration emotions too. Perceiving: I am a very flexible person and spontaneous too to be being adapted to situations and circumstances.

3. LOCUS OF CONTROL:
Locus of control refers to the extent to which individuals believe that they can control events that affect them. One's "locus" can either be internal (meaning the person believes that they control their life) or external (meaning they believe that their environment, some higher power, or other people control their decisions and their life). Following was my result in the test: EXTERNAL: I happen to be a person who believes that everything happens because of the environment or some external reasons or because of people and not my decisions. Hence the external control has an effect on me.

4. HIGHMACH/LOW MACH:
Machiavellianism is a degree to which an individual is pragmatic, maintains emotional distance, and believes that ends can justify means. There are basically two parts of this Machiavellianism. They are High Mach and Low Mach The result of this test for me is: HIGH MACH PERSONALITY: I approach to situations logically and thoughtfully, I am skilled at influencing others and try to exploit loosely structured situations.

5. CONFLICT MANAGEMENT:
Conflict management involves implementing strategies to limit the negative aspects of conflict and to increase the positive aspects of conflict at a level equal to or higher than where the conflict is taking place. Conflict can be valuable to groups and organizations. It has been shown to increase group outcomes when managed properly. There are basically 5 conflict management styles that an individual posses at different times. They are Competing, Collaborating, Compromising, Avoiding and Accommodating. Following is my result for the test: My score for the test is as per the sequence from high to low COLLABORATING ACCOMODATING COMPROMISING AVOIDING COMPETING

Thus all these measures as per the test follow my PLP
