Q1. A man walks 2 km dur north. After that he walks another 2 km along (i) due West, (ii) due east and (iii) due south.
What is the final displacement from the starting point in each case?

Q2. Determine the value of ‘a’ so that the vectors A = 6î + aĵ – 4k̂ and B = 3î + 4ĵ + 5k̂ are perpendicular.
→ ^ ^ → ^ ^
Q3. Find the value of m when the two vectors, 𝐴 = 2î + 4𝑗 − 𝑚𝑘 and 𝐵 = 7î + 2𝑗 + 3𝑘 are perpendicular.
Q4. Two equal vectors have a resultant equal to the vector itself. Find the angle between the vectors.
→ ^ ^ → ^ ^
Q5. Find the angle between 𝐴 = 𝑖 + 𝑗 and 𝐵 = 𝑖 − 𝑗.

Q6. What is the angle between the following pair of vectors?

A = î + ĵ + k̂ B = – 2î – 2ĵ – 2k

Q7. Prove that 2î – 3ĵ – k̂ and – 6î + 9ĵ + 3k̂ are parallel.

Q8. The greatest and the least resultant of two forces acting at a point are 29 N and 5 N respectively. If each force is
increased by 3 N, find the resultant of two new forces when acting at a point at an angle of 90° with each other.

Q9. An aircraft is trying to fly due north at a speed of 100 ms-1 but is subjected to a crosswind blowing from west to
east at 50 ms-1. What is the actual velocity of the aircraft relative to the surface of the earth?

Q10. The resultant of two vectors P and Q acting at a point inclined to each other at an angle θ is R. If the magnitude
of vector Q is doubled, R is also doubled. If the vector Q is reversed in the direction, R is again doubled. Find the
ratio between P, Q and R.

Q1. A shell is fired horizontally with a velocity of 150 km/hr from the top of a tower. It hits a target on the ground after 3
sec. Find (i) height of tower, (ii) distance of target from Tower and with what velocity it hit the ground.

Q2. A ball is projected horizontally from the top of a building 25 m high with a speed of 20 m/s. After how long will it hit
the ground. Also find the horizontal and vertical distances covered by the ball.

Q3. A body is projected such that its kinetic energy at the top is ¾ of its initial kinetic energy. What is the initial angle of
projection of the projectile with horizontal?

Q4. A projectile is thrown with initial velocity of 19.6 m/s at an angle of 600 with horizontal. Calculate time to reach
maximum height, maximum height and range of the projectile.

Q9. A projectile shot at an angle of 60° above the horizontal ground strikes a vertical wall 30 m away at a point 15 m
above the ground. Find the speed with which the projectile was launched and the speed with which it strikes the wall.

Q10. A ball is thrown vertically upwards with a velocity of 20 m/s from the top of a building of height 25 m from the
ground
