1. ANALOGY - There is an assumption that two things similar in


one aspect are alike in one aspect.
Example:

2. COMPARISON-CONTRAST - This technique presents the


similarities and/or differences of two major concerns.
Example:
Beauty versus Brawn
Beauty ensures permanent and remarkable success; Brawn
ensures
temporary success.

3. DEFINITION - This gives a meaning to a concept that forms the


argument.
Example:
Feminism
Feminism is not about hating men. It is celebrating the power of
women side by side with men.
4. ANALYSIS - A technique that takes part from the whole and
scrutinizes it to prove the point.
Example:
Career Choice
One’s personal interest determines her choice of a career because it
is her natural response to life in general.

Activity 2: Differentiated Tasks (Group Activity)
Directions: Each group must make the following assigned
activities. The topics revolve around the Filipino traits. Criteria for
the presentation must be followed.

Group 1: (Analogy) Choose two (2) Filipino traits and make an


H. Application analogy out of it. Present the output to the class by making a short
song out of it (2 minutes maximum).

Group 2: (Comparison-Contrast) Choose two (2) Filipino traits and


make a Venn Diagram of its similarities and differences. Write it on
a cartolina and report it to the class.

Group 3: (Definition) Choose two (2) Filipino traits and show to


the class the meaning of those two words by having a short role
play (2 minutes maximum).

Group 4: (Analysis) Choose one (1) Filipino trait and all group
members must write on a cartolina one (1) sentence about how this
trait can be done in daily life. Report the output to the class.
