This study will utilize the qualitative research method, using passage and open-ended
questionnaire, to gather data. This method is used to assess the word-reading skills of the
Grade 7 students and its effect on their comprehension. Using the passage, the researchers will
be able to determine reading skill of the students. Open-Ended questions will determine their
understanding of the passage.
