To + Verb-simple form (Verb-infinitive form)
Note:
This structure is to show the purpose.
ပထမဝါကျကူဵပါ
ဒုတိယဝါကျ မှာ – can, could, shall, should, will, would, may, might, must
- want to, wish to, hope to, intend to, need to, plan to
- on/for the purpose of, in attention with, with the intention,
so that, so as to, in order that, in order to ပါလျှင် ဖြုတ်ပါ
To + V-simple form (V-infinitive form)
2. They met at this restaurant yesterday. They held the gathering party.
They met at this restaurant yesterday to hold the gathering party.
3. The colleagues help the greenhorn. They want to succeed her project.
The colleagues help the greenhorn to succeed her project.
5. He turned down the music so that he didn’t want to disturb the neighbours.
He turned down the music not to disturb the neighbours.
It is/was + noun/noun Phrase + who/ that………..
Note:
We can put emphasis on a particular noun/ noun phrase by beginning the sentence
with the structure “It is /was”…… .
It ေရဵပါ
V1 – is / V2 – was
Emphatic part of the sentence ေရဵပါ
Emphatic part လူဆလ ို ျှင် – who
လူမဟုတ်လျှင် - that
ကျေ်တာကူဵပါ
Examples
3. He gave a cough before his speech. He could get the attention of the
audiences. (Use “To+Verb-infinitive form”)
4. He has gone to the top of the mountain in attention with viewing the beautiful
scenery. (Use “To+Verb-infinitive form”)
5. He arranged his schedules again. He would not overlap his time for the events.
(Use “To+Verb-simple form”)
