Instruction
General Guidelines
What you’ll be doing:
• Read through the Project Guideline.

• Install Appen Task app on the device that you will be using to
complete the task.

• Login and read the instructions carefully prior to starting the

task.

• Start uploading and HAVE FUN!

 You need to shoot videos in which you read or sing in English. Each
video is around 30 seconds or more (no more than one minute).
You can choose any of the four recording options.

• close-up reading video;

• close-up singing video;

(close-up refers to a small part of shoulders and above);

• half-body reading video;

• half-body singing video ;

(half-body refers to the waist and above);

 General Guidelines
❖ Recording type requirements: If the amount of video collection is too large, you can
choose to submit the number you can shoot (up to 100), and we will pay according
to the actual qualified quantity. There are four types, close-up reading video, close-
up singing video (close-up refers to a small part of shoulders and above), half-body
reading video, and half-body singing video (half-body refers to the waist and
above). You can choose any of the four recording options above. The portrait
should be complete, front-centered, and takes up more than 60% of the entire
screen.
❖ Recording environment: Indoors or Outdoors (should be quiet without noise,
sufficient light without reflection.
❖ Recording background: no limit, and the background can be changed for each
video.
❖ Facial requirements: clean and tidy, no headphones (including Bluetooth headsets),
sunglasses, hats, scarves, masks, or any other objects that cover the face.
 General Guidelines
❖ Singing/reading content: There are no restrictions on the content (political and
pornographic content is not allowed), but the content of each recording must be
different. Each recording requires reciting different article fragments/singing
different song fragments, and the same article cannot be used directly.
❖ Performance standards: There are no restrictions. It is best to read + sing with a
certain amount of emotion and not be too stiff. When speaking and singing, the
head can move slightly and expressions can change; half-length videos can have
hand movements, but the face cannot be obscured.
❖ Recording requirements: The screen must be vertical, with a resolution of 1080p
or above. The person being collected should not move at will during the recording.
You must sing/read aloud within 5 seconds before each video, do not wait too
long. The silence period before and after each video cannot exceed 5 seconds.

Download “Appen Task”
Login with your Appen account
Click “My” and go to settings
Open “Auto Upload”
Now you can find your task and start
Input your info.

FAQ
❖ If you have uploaded all videos,
(less than 100), you can click “skip”
till the end to submit your task.
Submission
❖ Make sure you have completed all
tasks (10 info + 100 videos).
Please note that even if you didn’t shoot 100 videos, you
must go through the procedure so we can receive all videos
you uploaded.

❖ Then please click “Submit and Close”

to finish.
