A DARK WEDDING,

rather unique Bpoctacle

yesterday afternoon at

Dympness Rotnam 'Catholic -Church, ,

when Albert Randall, aboriginal, led;


Margaret Ivanhoe, aboriginal, to ihe
altar. It hail been known about the
town for some time that the wedding
was on the tapis, and it was
with no
surprise therefore that we found the
church and the streets crowded with
townspeople. The wedding was ar

unlike most whites, tha .parties drove
up to the sacred edifice before the ap
pointed time. The l.-ride, who was an

excellent specimen of the Australian


native, was attired in all white satin —

itseemed to us to be trimmed with —

looked so happy, and smiled so radiantly

school, possessing a fair education and
being most well behaved in manners. A
handsome girl of about fourteen, a half
caste named Miss Clark, acted as brides
maid, and was also tastefully dreuaed.
The bridegroom, who is

collar, and white tie, and went through
the ceremony with all the-composure of
a Prince, perhaps because he wasclosely

wasimpressively conducted by the Rev.
Father Shore, a great roar of laughter
washeard, which, though perhaps rather
sacrilegious, was excasaliie under the
circumstances. It was caused by the
best man, Mr, Cameron, rushing the
bride for the first kiss, which lie duly
secured, remarking that it was the
sweetest oscillatory -sensation he had
experienced for some tinie. A photo
graph of the wedding party was taken
by a local'&mateur outside the portal,
after which they drove wway amid
showors of rice, -&c., to the Island.
