LESSON PLAN

Grade: I A
Lesson: MY FACE
Time of lesson: 50
Type of lesson: Checking of previous knowledge/communcication of new
knowledge

Lesson competences:

1. practice the use of already known vocabulary;


2. practice the use of SENSES related to MY FACE;
3. practice the use of related vocabulary.

By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to:

a. identify the parts of the face;


b. identify the related vocabulary;
c. use the new vocabulary;
d. use the vocabulary related to the lesson;

Skills: Speaking, Reading, Listening, Writing

Vocabulary: words related to my face (ears, nose, mouth, etc) and verbs (hear,
smell, taste, etc).

Grammar: „can”

Materials: video projector, post-its, worksheets, stick, smart phone

Interaction: T-S; S-T; group work.

Teaching methods: conversation, explanation, video presentation, game

Anticipated problems: Ss. may:

- not be familiar with the vocabulary and grammar issues related to the topic;
- have difficulties in using the revised vocabulary;
- be too shy to communicate in a foreign language.
Solutions:

- to re-introduce some of the vocabulary;


- to practice the vocabulary;
- to encourage Ss to communicate.

Activity I: Warm-up (5 min)


1. aims: - to create the proper atmosphere;
- to stimulate the Ss' interest about the topic of the lesson;
- to introduce the topic of the lesson.

2. procedure: T. checks if anyone is absent, then announces the topic of the


lesson as being a surprise they have to discover. T. tells the Ss. that they are going
to find a note under the desk and each student will see a part of the face and will
have to announce the title of the lesson themselves.

Activity II: Reading (5 min)


Aim: to practice reading

Procedure: The Students have to match on the whiteboard the words for the parts
of the face. (material on the stick)

Activity III: Speaking/Reading (10 minutes)


Aim: to encourage Ss to communicate in English, while talking about my face and
discover the part in a word cloud prepared ahead.

Procedure: T. puts on the video the face drawn with the word cloud and Ss will
have to find out and read the parts of the face. Ss will coe to the board and circle
what they have found.

Activity IV: Writing (10 minutes)
Aim: to present to students information about verbs of senses.

Procedure: T. writes on the whiteboard the new information and practices


pronounciation with the Ss, who will have to wite on their notebooks the new
information, making small drawings to identify the translations more easily.

3.I can taste.---mouth (drawing)
4.I can hear.---ears (dawing)

Activity V: Practice (Trivia) (10 min)


Aim: to check the Ss’ understanding of the presented information

Procedure: Ss. are given a worksheet which they have to solve with the teacher”s
help.

Activity VI: Homework (5 min)


Aim: to encourage students to practice and use the information given in class

Procedure: Ss. have to solve a worksheet using the information discussed in class.
