Educating children is crucial for many people, and some people believe that parents are the best

teachers. Although they play vital part in children’s life, I strongly disagree with this statement. I
will discuss both side of these view in my essay.
On the one hand, parents have early influence on children’s development, especially on the
foundation of language, social skills and emotional intelligence. These things are the base for the
children to develop more in the future. Moreover, parents comprehend children’s individual
thought, hobby and interest, so it allow for more effective learning.
However, no one can’t possessess all knowledge, neither do parents. They don’t have the formal
training in specific subjects require for advance learning, which is necessary for children to
become successful. In addition, parents in some circumstances may be violent or narrow-minded,
which has bad effects on children. Teacher is less close to children than parents, so they will
teach children in a more strictly way that make children more independent instead of being
covered by parents’ care.
In summary, although parents can be the first in children’s life, they can’t be the best one.
Children need to be taught by well-educated teachers to have a chance of being a success.
