In the future, it seems more difficult to live on Earth.

Some people think more money should be spent on

researching other planets to live on, such as Mars.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this
statement?

In the foreseeable future, it is hard for everyone to reside on our planet. Some
hold a belief that a huge amount of the financial budget should be relocated to
do an experiment in outer space. It is generally acknowledged that space
exploration is a vital sector to be invested in or not. While I recognize the
importance of allocating to space exploration, I am more convinced that the
state budget should be allocated to other pressing issues.

On the one hand, there are several explanations why the state budget should be
invested in space exploration. First and foremost, due to existing
overpopulation on the Earth, a large number of global citizens are over-
consume natural resources which has resulted in natural resource depletion
and natural habitat degradation. As a result, it is imperative that humans have
to locate a habitable planet which provides human beings with essential
resources to dwell in and ensure human survival. Secondly, thanks to the
discovery in space research, scientists are able to anticipate imminent risk in
the universe in order to avoid irreversible extinction. For example, a solar storm
or giant meteoroid may collide with the Earth causing humans to die out.
Therefore, researchers should be incentivized to discover and colonize other
livable planets for mankind's future survival.

On the other hand, in spite of the above -mentioned satisfactory outcome of

space discovery, more spending should be invested in other emergencies,
including medical care, economic growth, environment research and education
system. The reason behind this fact is that numerous basic categories require
sufficient investment so as to save millions of lives in face of life threats. In
reality, space research has wasted a huge amount of financial budget for
decades without any guaranteed satisfactory outcome in the short time.
Meanwhile, epidemics claim millions of lives on the Earth, just because, not
enough funding for medical system improvement. Hence, not enough drugs to
be produced and no medical treatments are readily accessible. More seriously,
many individuals starve to die, so, compared to this situation, investment in
space exploration is extremely luxurious. Finally, national funding should also
be distributed to eradicate illiteracy to provide basic understanding to social
members to have better job opportunities.

In conclusion, I reaffirm that in spite of the benefit of space discovery, more

state incentives should be allocated to other pressing issues, such as poverty,
illiteracy and epidemics.
