“Historical antecedents in which social considerations changed the

course of science and technology”

Ancient civilization has contributed a huge factor when it comes to scientific

development, especially during this present time. They serve as the foundation of the
present invention, and it only proves that even during ancient times, there were so many
individuals who could make a significant contribution to how we use science and
technology to make our daily lives easier.

By showing appreciation for their previous inventions, human society has been able to
improve and become more efficient and productive. It is very impressive that even
without the use of any futuristic tools and only using hand and physical labor, they are
able to produce amazing things, like their contribution with the first writing system called
Cuneiform. It takes a lot of expertise and intelligence to build something that is so
meaningful and helpful. Imagine yourself thinking of something that you can invent that
can make a big impact. Without knowing this past invention, it will definitely leave you
clueless, and you will not be able to think of anything.

Those simple yet meaningful inventions led to what we are today. The Greeks were
able to contribute using their work in philosophy and math; they started the Olympics,
which had a significant effect in terms of sports and sportsmanship, and they also
invented the alarm clock that helps us even in the present day. The Romans developed
their own numeral system. Alexander Graham Bell's telephone revolutionized the way
people communicated. and suddenly calculators evolved into computers, making
complex calculations easier.

That is how great the ancient civilization has contributed to how advanced and civilized
we are today, and we were able to develop more because of the inspiration that we get
from studying their history.
